Amongst the ever-increasing number of food outlets in Kota Damansara lies this restaurant name BITS Kitchen, with minimal decoration yet well lit and clean ambience.
Being a young chef and owner to this BITS Kitchen at only age 26, Ms Mei Ding make sure the foods served here are enjoyable with homey feel and a touch of her own creativity. Growing up in a family that is in food business, Ms Mei Ding further polished her cooking skill at the Taylors College and graduated in culinary arts.
Red Yeast Rice or Bamboo Charcoal Sandwich
Red Yeast Rice is what is referred to, in Japanese, as a koji, meaning ‘grain or bean overgrown with a mold culture’. It is made by culturing rice with various strains of the yeast-Monascus purpureus. It naturally contains several ingredients that may help control cholesterol levels.
Bamboo Charcoal is made up of pieces of bamboo, which are taken from plants five years or older and burned inside an oven at temperatures over 120 celsius. It contains toxin cleaning properties that make it a healthy component when it is mixed into food like bread.
Diners can have options between Teriyaki Grilled Chicken (RM10.90), Tuna Melt (RM9.90), Cheesy Egg (RM8.90), or Ham Lover (RM9.90) for the sandwich filling.
Beautiful Breakfast (RM10.90)
Who would not like their breakfast as pleasant as this! It comes with layers of egg, ham, harsh brown, cheese, and Mei Ding own mixture of pancake that has sweet taste instead of the normal’s blank and floury. Don’t forget to pour the maple syrup on top, it makes the pancake tastes superb. Served together with cheese sausage and simple greens as well for the perfect balance of nutrition and energy you need it to start a beautiful day!
Oriental Spicy Angel Hair Pasta (RM10.90)
Similar to the popular Chinese pan mee, Mei Ding substitute the noodle with angel hair pasta instead. Enjoy it while served warm, diner needs to toss everything together, ingredients including dried shrimp chili paste, fried shallot, chopped spring onions, minced chicken, and soft boiled egg, mix it well with the chef own sauce to get that perfect balance of flavor at every strand. Sweetness from the soy sauce with a hint of spiciness, a truly simple comfort food for me!
Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with Creamy Garlic Spaghetti (RM11.90)
Serving together with few pieces of soft shell crab that deep fried till golden brown crisp, the portion itself definitely is worth of money spent. Not too bad the taste, more appealing to those who do not like their creamy pasta in heavy thick way.
Signature Magnolia Butter Milk Chicken (RM9.90)
I like butter taste. From far before serving it to our table, I can already smell the nice aroma of butter fragrance! Every piece of tender chicken are evenly coated with chef own mixed butter sauce that has a hint of spiciness, splendid! The secret? Mei Ding shared with us that she uses butter instead of cooking oil to prepare the chicken.
Homemade Special Fried Chicken with Mango Sauce (RM9.90)
A rather common fried chicken with golden brown crispy skin from the breadcrumb, but with the homemade mango sauce, it added a touch of magical taste to it, refreshing sweetness sourish with the nice aroma of mango itself. Blended with fresh mango fruit instead of using the puree type, Mei Ding make sure it is healthy without much preservative and coloring.
