Taste MIGF (Malaysia International Gourmet Festival) is back, bigger and even more exciting.
This spectacular MIGF 2013 preview event now stretches over three days and nights, during which the general public are invited go on a Super Gourmet Safari to sample Festival Menu tasting portions from each of the 28 Festival restaurants. The specially created Theatre of Cuisines is the stunning venue, within the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
Go On A Super Gourmet Safari
The Taste MIGF Super Gourmet Safari is the ideal introduction to premium dining for everyone.
Malaysia’s finest restaurants each have a station in the brilliantly presented Theatre of Cuisines, and each offer taste samples from their actual Festival menus. The samples incidentally, are big enough to allow a full appreciation of the dish itself, yet small enough to ensure that all the restaurant offerings can be tried.
Live entertainment from concert bands, professional dancers and non-stop deejay music, together with a large dance floor, will provide a swinging party atmosphere.
Taste Tokens are the only currency acceptable at the Theatre Of Cuisines, and are exchanged for the chosen dishes. Usual ‘prices’ for a sample are between 1 and 3 Tokens which are each valued at RM5 and available in books of 10. They can be purchased at the venue on the day, or prepurchased on-line (visit www.v4tickets.com) to save 5%.
The Theatre of Cuisines will open from 11.00am to 11.00pm on Saturday, 7th and Sunday, 8th September.
Shop At The Epicure International Gourmet Village
The Epicure International Gourmet Village is situated next door to the Theatre of Cuisines. There, more than 80 purveyors of the finest gourmet food, wines, beverages, cigars, and much else, offer their wares in a festive, bazaar-like atmosphere. Cash and Credit Cards are the methods of payment (not Taste Tokens).
The Epicure International Gourmet Village opens on Friday, 6th September from 11.00am to 4.00pm, and on Saturday, 7th and Sunday, 8th September from 11.00am to 11.00pm

Cooking classes and Lifestyle Workshops are the third Taste MIGF feature. 40 classes and workshops have been scheduled, conducted by top professionals, all recognised experts in their field. The cooking workshops are a unique opportunity to get to meet and learn from many Festival Master Chefs as they share their culinary secrets. Wine and cigar appreciation classes offer the same opportunity, and there is also a wide range of modern lifestyle and well-being workshops – in effect something for everyone.
Admission is free as long as you hold a Taste Token booklet. Log on to www.tastemigf.com for updates on the cooking classes and workshops, and register yourself to avoid disappointment.
Workshops will be conducted throughout Saturday and Sunday, from noon until 8.00pm.
Catch Chef Wan Live In Action
Another outstanding aspect to look out for at Taste MIGF is the appearance of Chef Wan, Malaysia’s Food Ambassador cum Celebrity Chef whose boisterous spirit and colloquial mix of English and Malay in his talk shows have made him a household name both in Malaysia and beyond. Chef Wan will provide the perfect start to Taste MIGF on both Saturday and Sunday morning with his highly entertaining – and highly professional – cooking demonstrations starting at 11.30am, at the main stage.
A fully equipped and professionally supervised Children’s Playroom is also provided.
