Blu Med, nestled amidst the bustling center of Boulevard Mid Valley, presents a perfect destination for both casual and more formal dining around town.

Divided into two separate levels, the restaurant that officially opened its doors in 1st Feb 2013 features a trendy cool and modern environment with touches of comfort on the lower floor and luxury on the upper floor.

Patrons entering the restaurant will be greeted by an imposing floor to ceiling wall of candles separating the bar and the restaurant area, and a very high vertical garden completed with two large chandeliers made of glass bottles, specially designed for Blu Med.

The casual dining area seats approximately 160 patrons, inside and outside, whilst the upper floor only seats 60 intimately, with exclusive use of 2 private dining rooms. The Funky Bar is a new trendy and fun place to meet friends and relax, with unusual cocktails and a bar snacks “table”.

Blu Med offers a Mediterranean experience executed by their Japanese Executive Chef with an unique touches. Relaunched its new menu recently, we are honored to be among the early groups to try some of Blu Med’s signature items.


Strawberry Caipiroska (RM26)

Refreshing cocktail Strawberry Caipiroska, with Absolut Kurant, lime chunks, golden brown sugar, soda water, strawberry puree and lime juice.


Caipirinha (RM26)

Caipirinha, a stronger taste of cocktail, with Cachaca Rum, lime chunks, golden brown sugar, ginger ale and lime juice.


Steamed Vegetables (RM29.90)

One of the hot salads that offered here at Blu Med, the healthy Steamed Vegetables with carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, potato and toasted garlic bread. Love the cream sauce that mixed with Blue cheese and Parmesan cheese, it brings a nice savory taste to compliment well with the natural sweetness of vegetables.


Eggplant Siciliana (RM5)

The new menu of Blu Med introduced a selection of nice interesting tapas at very affordable price, which ranging from RM5 to RM15. We tried the Baked Eggplant Siciliana that covered with tomato sauce mixed with capers, anchovies, olive oil and garlic, a sourish appetizer with hint of hotness that definitely can open up your appetite.


Soft Shell Crab and Broccoli Tempura (RM15)

Served with Thai sweet chili sauce at the side, I was a bit addicted to keep munching both the crispy soft shell crab and broccoli tempura, especially having it together with the flavorsome dipping sauce, nice mixed of texture and taste without much greasiness.


Quarto Formaggi Pizza (RM48)

This is truly a pizza for the ultimate cheese lover! Mozzarella, Taleggio, Gorgonzola (Blue Cheese) and Parmesan, that’s 4 different types of cheese on a slice of pizza! The Blue Cheese will definitely make you mesmerized even after long eaten with its strong taste still stick around your mouth.

To balance up the cheese’s saltiness, chef paired it with honey made from the yellow locust flower, which its mild sweetness was just perfect to turn this Quarto Formaggi Pizza an irresistible indulgence!


Squid Ink Spaghetti (RM29.90)

I personally not really a squid ink fans because of the after-meal stain. Served together with squids, clams, cherry tomatoes, and mussels, chef own-mixed of this unique squid ink sauce delivered a nice blend of flavor to the al-dente spaghetti, and more importantly, you can still have that clean bright smile after finish the dish. The garnishing shredded chili on top added a nice little touch of spiciness to the overall flavor without significant substance.


Executive Combo Set (RM59.90)

Perfect for sharing among 2-3 pax, this Executive Combo Set has pieces of dory fish and chicken breast that deep fried till crispy golden brown, plus sticks of our Malaysian all-time favorite Satay, with accompanied tartar sauce, bbq sauce, and peanuts sauce served at the side. I like the potato mayonnaise salad as well, which to me was kinda refreshing and light in texture, guess it will appeal to most of the ladies diners.


Caramel Apple Honey Toast with Ice Cream (RM19.90)

Wrapping up our wonderful meal at Blu Med was this sweet dessert with thick toast that served together with caramelized apple in slices, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top. Generous amount of honey sauce was evenly poured around the toast to make this dessert a delightful for those sweet tooth.
