Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, The Mix in Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie offers a great place for patrons to meet up over good food, great drinks and have loads of laughs.
Divided into 2 sections, the stylish chic in-door dining area and elegant al-fresco dining space at the terrace, The Mix will be converted from a cozy bistro for great live music and top class DJs at the happening night time.
Revamped its menu recently, I am lucky to be here to experience myself the new tantalising and flavourful gastronomic experience, which chef introduced us some of his proud signatures that includes :
Stuffed Mushroom (RM25)
An enjoyable starter with a nice balance of mixed flavour, chef stuffed the mushroom with ingredients like cream cheese, cannellini beans, walnut and olive.
Coconut Chicken Strip (RM15)
Another wonderful starter, the crispy deep fried coconut coated chicken strip that tastes excellent with the honey soya dipping sauce. I wish to have a glass of cooling beer now!
Greek Panzanella (RM25)
A wholesome and refreshing bowl of Tuscan salad with lots of flavours, textures, and colours, mixed of ingredients like the tomatoes, bread, cucumber, green onion, and some fresh basil for the extra fragrant.
Masala Pasta (RM35)
For the extra kick and burst of flavour, try explore the new gastronomic depths with this Masala Pasta, an Indian style inspired pasta that chef cooked with mixed masala spices and vegetables.
2 De Quase (RM30)
I like the concept of different flavors on a same pizza cos sometimes it will be kinda bored to have the same flavor after few slices.
Perfect for sharing, this 2 De Quase pizza has 2 flavors, the masala chicken in spicy red sauce, mozzarella cheese and chopped fresh cilantro placed on top, while another half portion is the fragrant garlic prawns with herbs. Yummy!
Always a big fan for fish, this fried black cod was nicely prepared without much complicated way so that diners can still savour and enjoy the fish own natural sweetness flavor. Chef plated the dish beautifully with lightly sautéed shitake, eryngii mushroom, boiled potato and vegetables, am truly pleased.
Beef Negimaki (RM25)
Beautifully plated, chef rolled the marinated beef strip with asparagus and cooked it together with dashi soya sauce. Love the intense savory taste from the dashi soya sauce, it really complemented well with the tender beef roll.
Beef Short Ribs (RM50)
Served together with butter braised garlic, onions, zucchini, and beans at side, these balsamic glazed beef short ribs can certainly satisfy your red meat craving with its scrumptious flavorful texture.
Lemon Grass Lamb (RM45)
Served with creamy brown rice at side, chef paired this well-marinated tender lamb with the pumpkin curry, which the taste to me was just marvelous, some sweetness from the pumpkin with a hint of mild curry flavor as the background.
Lamb Shank (RM50)
Served with creamy shallot risotto at side, tantalise your taste buds with this soft and tender lamb shank that prepared in Osso Buco style. Full of irresistible goodness of flavors and texture, the meat was so soft it literally fell from the bone with just a touch of the fork.
Jivara Indulgence (RM30)
Rich and creamy chocolate fudge sponge made of Jivara by Valrhona that has hint notes of malt and vanilla, paired with salty crusty bites at side and milk chocolate peanut cream mousse placed on top, what a wonderful dessert to conclude our meal tonight with!
Raspberry Rhubarb Almond Crumble (RM30)
Served with a single scoop of vanilla ice cream, this flaky crumble dessert comes with raspberry puree poached rhubarb as the filling and ground almond was added to the topping for more delightful flavor. Not too overwhelm sweet, it was a nice indulgence to complete the gastronomic exploration of The Mix’s new menu.
