Bakery . Cake . Coffee
Stepping into Cultura, a small neighborhood cafe at Bangsar along the Lorong Kurau, had brought me back to a peaceful world where I can embraced a slower paced life away from the hectic city with good coffee, nice food and great company.
“We believe there is a story in every cup of coffee and there is a memory in every bite of pastry. It is the comforting feeling that we so crave to somehow balance up our busy days with a tiny smile on our face.
This has to come naturally and it can not get more real with the most organically cultivated materials that we hold dearly in CULTURA. We take our time in giving you only what our hearts feel right to make sure you have a good story that lead you back to that touching memory. It warm our hearts when we trace that uplifting lips movement of your satisfaction and of course, your familiar return through our door.”
Simple in minimalism, the interior was built up with lots of natural lighting and wooden furniture to create that warm and inviting ambience for customers to dine in.
Cultura sourced their coffee from the farms in Ratawali, Atu Lintang Valley and West Java at an altitude of 1500m above sea level. The coffee beans were at its highest premium quality as Cultura pick only the best to ensure consistent quality. Customers who like the coffee blend here can also purchase their Degayo Premium Organic Blend (Medium Roast) at RM98 per packet and Degayo House Signature Blend (Dark Roast) at RM88 per packet.
Creme Brulee Latte (RM10)
Whether one’s tastes lean toward beef, chicken or vegetarian, there is a Press Toast waiting to tempt even the pickiest taste buds. A house specialty here at Cultura, featuring an array of scrumptious Press Toast that filled with healthy and delicious ingredients, namely the Black Pepper Chicken (RM9), Chicken and Mushroom (RM9), Mushroom and Cheese (RM9), Ham and Cheese (RM9), Banana and Peanut Butter (RM9), Tuna and Cheese (RM9), Pepperoni Beef (RM9), Chicken Jumbo (RM9), Banana Cinnamon (RM7), Tomato and Cheese (RM7) and Peanut Butter (RM7).
Soft and crispy at the outer layer, Cultura uses a thicker 40g wholemeal bread for their Press Toast. I personally like these Mushroom Cheese and Banana Peanut Butter, flavorful with good combination of different textures, and I was also being told the peanut butter here was homemade for the healthy purpose.
Besides press toast, customers can add on Mini Salad or Mini Danish for extra RM1, Muffin or Vanilla Ice Cream for additional RM2, and Curry Puff, Firecracker, Croissant, Pineapple Bar or Cranberry Twist for only extra RM3.
Fans of cheese cake will be delighted with Cultura’s Half Baked Cheese Cake in Japanese style. Made from cream cheese, eggs, milk, sugar, starch and butter, the texture was soft and creamy, not too overwhelm strong in the cheese taste. Served in single portion, this definitely a lovely dessert not to be missed for serious cake lovers.
Another must-try dessert at Cultura was this Japanese Custard Pudding that made of simple ingredients like milk, fresh cream, sugar and gelatin. Smooth and creamy, customers can try either the Egg Custard, which was my favorite among all, Chocolate or Green Tea flavor.
‘From our hearts to yours, CULTURA, CULinary naTURAL is our best gift to you. Life is a journey, there is never too rush to smell the cakes and coffee. The best time is as always, NOW…’
