Planning for a relaxing weekend’s night outing with friends in a less jam-packed spot around Kuala Lumpur city?
Divided into air-conditioned glass rooms and alfresco, NEO Tamarind is a stylish luxe-lounge style restaurant, a comfortable hangout place for non-smokers with incredibly spacious floor, which is decked with lounging spots and long bar benches if you plan to straddle on a long night.
It was inevitably a great place to chill and unwind any night at NEO Tamarind’s mixology bar, where customers can immerse in a neo-experience of delicious food by a very ‘dope’ chef, electro-chill music and a very colorful list of liquid desserts, whisky from its own single-malt cellar and hundreds of wine labels to choose from.
White Russian (RM110 per jugs)
The Big Lebowski of cocktails. Bartender swirled the vodka and Kahlua together, served in an old fashioned glass with smooth cream layered on top.
Lychee Lemongrass Smash (RM132 per jugs)
Quench your thirst by having a refreshing sip of cocktail with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and lychee crushed. Bartender shaken it hard together with fresh lime and vodka before strained it over ice and served to customers.
Prepared by Chef Sombat Kokasemkul, the Executive Chef of NEO Tamarind specializing in modern and creative Thai cuisine, a terrific selection of mouth-watering canapés are available every Friday and Saturday from 10 pm till 1 am.
Tiger Prawn Tempura (RM39)
There’s just something so addictively good about this flavorful dip that matched very well with the crispy tiger prawn tempura, which ingredients including shallot, garlic, roasted green chili, Kikkoman soy sauce and cherry tomato.
Mini Beef Burger (RM33)
Served in bite-sized portion, the marinated Angus tenderloin patty was prepared in-house with rosemary and thyme, sandwiched together with gorgonzola cheese, fried potato and mustard Dijon sauce for the satisfying combination with chilled beer.
Tom Yum Goong Pizza (RM55)
Hand-tossed and baked in the wood-fired oven, this fragrant mildly spicy pizza was loaded with ingredients like succulent prawn, juicy mushroom, onion, and tomato mixed tom yum paste as the sauce base.
Grilled Chicken Wing (RM33)
Prepared in both western and Asian ways, this was my favorite of the night. The deep fried drummet was lightly seasoned with salt and served with gorgonzola sauce, while the soft Asian-styled chicken was first steamed with marinade made from Kikkoman and teriyaki sauce, then only grilled till perfection upon order to have you licking your fingers and smacking your lips in satisfaction!
