Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently get to try out some nice modern Italian foods at the pork-free Pizzolo Restaurant, which just newly opened for business inside the revamped Atria Shopping Gallery.

With colorful eye-catching logo hang at the Pizzolo’s main entrance, I love their stylish chic modern dining interior with studio alike lighting sets, it somehow made me felt like a movie star in the golden age of Italian film industry.

Impressed with the open kitchen once you stepped into Pizzolo, where customers can see for themselves chef skillfully prepared the dishes in front of their eye, diffusing tempting aromatic smell to tease everyone’s taste buds.

Remember to check out Pizzolo’s wine mezzanine, a carefully curated selection of over 60 types of affordable varieties for customers to pick from, which mostly are from Italy.

*****

Trout Ceviche (RM19.90)

Beautifully presented, these bite-sized appetizers were trout ceviche (raw fish marinated in citrus juice to cook it) sat on top a nest-shaped crunchy kataifi (a very fine vermicelli-like pastry). So delicate the taste with mouthful of textures, one piece of this is not enough!

Trio of Bruschetta (RM13.90)

One of the famous starter dishes in Italy cuisine, bruschetta is a toasted bread rubbed with garlic and topped with delicious toppings, olive oil and seasoning. Great for sharing, Pizzolo offers here the Trio of Bruschetta that served with chopped fresh tomato, mushroom and smoked salmon as the appetizing toppings.

Traditional Italian Clam Chowder (RM16.90) & Wild Mushroom Soup Cappuccino (RM14.90)

I like to start my meal with a tummy-warming soup, and Pizzolo serves two good choices of soups here, one is the Clam Chowder with chopped clams for the bite texture, while the Wild Mushroom Soup with a frothy of whipped cream placed on top is definitely a must-try for the mushroom lovers. Both also come with crunchy buttered toast to complete the enjoyment.

Chilled Tomato, Watermelon and Feta (RM17.90) & Seared Scallops on Avocado Tartar (RM25.90)

Both salads were enjoyable with different tastes and textures. The refreshing fruit salad served with chilled tomato, watermelon cubes and feta cheese tasted sourish with the salad dressing to open up your palate. While the plump juicy scallops salad was heavenly too with special house made avocado tartar sauce and tobiko for the hint of salty taste.

Sea Clams Linguini (RM28.90)

Interesting pasta menu at Pizzolo here, they serve 6 different pasta to cater the many types of discerning taste buds, namely the spaghetti, cannelloni, linguini, fettuccini, ravioli and lasagna. Must-try Pizzolo’s signature dishes include this Sea Clams Linguini that cooked together with chewy clams, garlic, fresh herbs, red chilies and fresh tomatoes.

South Texas Barbecue Chicken (RM28.90)

Baked to perfection over the golden brown crisp thin crusts, South Texas Barbecue Chicken was my absolute favorite among the wide varieties of pizza Pizzolo served. Served with chicken meat, black olives, red capsicum, green capsicum and red chilies, the delectable smoky BBQ sauce really turned a seemingly simple offering into something extraordinary for me!

Roast Lamb Shoulder Pizza (RM35.90)

If you are a meat person, then this Roast Lamb Shoulder Pizza would be your perfect choice as the chunky lambs really tender and juicy.

*****

Italian Crepe (RM15.90)

Tickle your taste buds with this Italian classic dessert, a soft and warm crepe with a palatable sweet sourish raspberry and citrus sauce as well as light whipped cream served on top. For more indulgence, you can add-on Forty Licks’ artisanal ice cream at RM6.90.

These pictures are making me hungry! It looks delicious here. I have never had black olives with BBQ sauce before. It sounds interesting. I would probably like the wild mushroom soup best.
