Mid-Autumn Festival 2015 With D’King Vegetarian Snow Skin Musang King Durian Mooncake

*****

Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently got chance to sample the vegetarian snow skin Musang King durian mooncake produced by D’King.

Driven by their belief in the true potential of tropical fruits as an international delicacy, D’King is the first in Malaysia to offers premium products made from Malaysian Royal Fruits, Durian and Mangosteen.

Handmade with the highest-grade of Musang King durians sourced from Pahang, I love the luscious texture and creamy mouthful in every bite. The mooncake does not contain any preservatives and artificial flavouring for the health conscious consumers, and does not have egg or milk produced also suitable for the vegetarian.

“Unlike most mooncakes that utilise processed filling, D’King mooncake is prepared with the actual durian flesh. Once the durians arrive, we will peel and remove the flesh immediately to prepare the mooncake filling. If we wait too long, the durians will break open on its own, and the aroma and taste will be lost,” shared Simon Chin, founder of D’King.

“Our D24 mooncake was very well-received last year, so this year, we decided to go for the most premium Musang King durian. The Musang King has a very creamy texture and sticky flesh, with wonderful strong scent and flavour that will melts in your mouth,” added Simon.

I like the delicate snow skin too, which is thin and light-textured, made from D’King pastry chef’s unique secret recipe after many rounds of trials.

One important note, do keep the mooncake in freezer -18 degree celsius for storage. Strictly do not store it in chiller to avoid product spoilage. Let is thaw for 15 minutes at room temperature when want to consume, and it is not recommended to defrost it more than 3 times.
