Last weekend, I went to Da Men USJ for their Chinese New Year Street Market to do some last minute festive shopping.
‘Designed as a fully synchronized hub for working, shopping, dining and living, Da Men is one of the most promising developments in the Subang-USJ region. Built on dynamism, diversity, connectivity and many more, Da Men is created for the young and young-at-heart, inviting them to convene in a contemporary, integrated environment.’
Happening at the entrance along Jalan Kewajipan, this outdoor street market was held on the 30 and 31 of January from 6 pm till 11 pm, with 20 stalls selling all kind of stuffs for your joyous Chinese New Year preparation.

I bought this beautiful orchid flower to decorate my house and hope to enhance the good fengshui during this Chinese New Year celebration.
Look at these clay-made cartoons, so cute right? I got myself a doggie since that’s my zodiac.
Available in so many varieties at such attractive price, I bought some Chinese New Year cookies as well to treat the guests that come to visit me during festive open house.
I really enjoyed this beautiful Chinese orchestra performance. They skillfully played few traditional Chinese New Year’s songs to keep the visitors entertained.
There’s even calligraphy demonstration by this sifu, and visitors can queue up to get one for free!
One of the highlights of Da Men Chinese New Year Street Market was the happening lucky spin booth. See this shopper so excited to try her luck on winning some cool prizes.
Before leaving, remember go inside the entrance and sound these gongs for 3 times to be blessed with abundance of good luck and prosperity!
*****
Do catch the exciting lion dance performance on 13, 14, 20 and 21 February 2 pm, or God of Prosperity walkabout on 6, 13 and 14 February 2 pm till 8 pm, if you are leisure around Da Men USJ on these dates.
To end this post, I would like to wish all FOODMsia’s readers Gong Xi Fatt Chai, may the New Year bring you good health and fortune always! Jom makan 🙂
