I like mango. It is often labeled as ‘super fruit’ with unique flavor, fragrance, taste and heath promoting qualities.
Mango is rich in pre-biotic dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals and poly-phenolic flavonoid antioxidant compounds. According to recent research, mango can protect us against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers. Several trial studies also suggest that polyphenolic anti-oxidant compounds in mango are known to offer protection against breast and colon cancers.
Mango is an excellent source of Vitamin-A and flavonoids like beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin. These compounds have been known to have antioxidant properties and are essential for vision. Vitamin A is also required for maintaining healthy mucus and skin. Consumption of natural fruits rich in carotenes is known to protect from lung and oral cavity cancers.
Fresh mango is also a good source of potassium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure. Furthermore, mango composes moderate amounts of copper, which is a co-factor for many vital enzymes, including cytochrome c-oxidase and superoxide dismutase (other minerals function as co-factors for this enzyme are manganese and zinc). Copper is also required for the production of red blood cells.
Mango fruit can be enjoyed all alone without any seasonings. Asian people like to use unripe and raw green mango to make appetizing pickles, jam and chutney. Fresh mango cubes are a great addition to fruit salad too.
Mango juice is one of my favorite drinks. The Carribean Cocktail from Juice Works is rich in fibre and energy with mixture of mango, pineapple and tropical juice. Good in digestion, the Mango Sensation is definitely for all the mango lovers out there, with mango, banana, tropical juice and low-fat mango yoghurt blended together deliciously.
“Fresh juices are precious elixirs of life. Whether taken directly or whipped up in a jiffy as a delicious drink using a juicer or blender, fresh fruits and vegetables contain a complete amount of the required vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients (plant chemicals) required by our bodies daily,” explained Ling Mooi Li, founder of Juice Works, Malaysia’s leading premium supplier of freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice and smoothies.
“It is a proven fact that fresh juices from whole fruits and vegetables contain a wealth of nutrients that are extremely beneficial to us. Juicing can reduce our risk of illnesses and diseases; boost our immune system that’s constantly battling daily stresses, cleanse our overworked liver and internal organs, aid digestion, removes harmful toxins, and even help us lose weight,” added Ling.
Whether in need of a health supplement, a dietary support, or just the thrill of a chilled fresh drink on a sunny day, Juice Works Malaysia offers the finest natural ingredients to create that perfect drink.
