Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently joined HyppTV, Malaysia’s largest and an award winning IPTV service powered by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), to celebrate Chinese New Year with the underprivileged and less fortunate groups at PJ Caring Home in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The delegates from TM and HyppTV to the charity home was joined by Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM together with Emily Wee, Vice President, Business and Media Operation, New Media, TM.
According to Jeremy in his welcome speech, “The visit to the PJ Caring Home is just a way of giving the residents the chance to enjoy the company of others in a fun, joyful environment during this Chinese New Year celebration while providing our staff a chance to reach out to the communities and doing a good deed at the same time.”
“HyppTV has started our community-based activities since 2013 with local communities during Ramadan month where we collaborated with local mosque committee at Menara TM, Kuala Lumpur, Bangi and Taman Melawati. Starting this year, we intend to expand our reach via more programmes to share the warm celebration of festivals and contribute to the community especially to those underprivileged.
Besides contribution and visit to PJ Caring Home, HyppTV has lined up more activities with the communities throughout the year. We are indeed blessed to be in a position to uplift the lives of people through great entertainment and giving back to the community is a great way to start the year,” he added.
The crowd was enjoying cheerful performance by the funny magician. He showed us few magic tricks which stunned us with big applause.
More than RM40,000 is contributed to ease the burden of the residents at PJ Caring Home, who mainly consist of old folks and mentally-challenged adults. HyppTV also provided FREE UniFi access complete with HyppTV Ruby Pack for PJ Caring Home, they will now be able to enjoy the high speed internet experience of UniFi and watch HyppTV’s world class entertainment content FREE for 3 years. To complement the internet and IPTV service, Samsung, as the official TV partner, contributed a 65” HD TV for the charity establishment bringing more joy for the residents!
In addition, the folks at the home also received exclusive merchandise from HyppTV and TM Info-Media Sdn. Bhd. (TMIM), a subsidiary of TM through fun-filled game activities.
In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration this year, HyppTV also ran a promotion to offer its viewers free viewing of its highly popular Ruby Pack from 28 January to 11 February 2017.
