Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Duddha, a new restaurant at KLCC which is helmed by renowned Chef Jet Lo serving his signature style of bold modern Southeast Asian cuisine.
Duddha, a temptress from the orient, feeding hearts with a definitive interpretation of Asian cuisine. The reinvention of classics in an elegant, fascinating and bold. Coy yet welcoming to all those who wish to be graced by her presence.
With comic-inspired characters, neon accents and a playful twist on tradition, like this mahjong tiled bar, we really look forward to food presentation that just as creative and inventive as the interiors.
An original concept all-day eating-house that plays on the sensual, fun, and epicurean way of enjoying food and drinks, I found this Deconstructed Tofu (RM26) fits the spirit of Duddha well. Complemented with oyster sauce, homemade chicken floss, pickled cabbage, garlic and daikon water, each bite is a journey of exploration that will make your taste buds dance.
Beautifully presented from the cold bite menu, this Hamachi Tartare (RM41) was served together with avocado, brown coconut, pickled ginger, pickled ginger flower and sea grapes to create a mouth-watering experience unlike any other.
Chef Jet’s menu gives emphasis on bold flavours, textures and mind-blowing combination, such as this unique Carbon Battered Lemon Sole (RM34). I was hesitated until I took a bite. Trust me, its black colour will only brings you an unforgettable dining experience, the fish tasted fine with smoked garlic mayo sauce and squeeze of calamansi juice.
Comes in a bucket inspired by a globally famous fast food chain of fried chicken, chef deep fried the Chicken Bone (RM29) till golden brown crisp with nan ru, a fermented bean curd used in Asian cuisine as a condiment made from soybeans.
A Sabahan native born into a family that is passionate about food, Chef Jet Lo is a young and dynamic figure in the culinary world who cooks ardently from the heart. This 5-spice Lamb Ribs (RM38) has surely captured the taste buds of Malaysians with his special recipe and meticulous preparation methods. Directly apply apricot ginger sauce on the meat from the tube upon eating, dining at Duddha won’t be a boring one!
There’s just something so addictively good about this Wagyu Beef Char Siew (RM82) served with pickled papaya, homemade chili sauce and charred spring onions, highly recommended to the beef connoisseurs.
Because Coconut Ice Cream (RM22) is too mainstream, we have it smoked instead, and paired with caramelized pumpkin rice cake as well as crispy chips.
So, let your palettes run wild. Duddha’s waiting.
