Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently attended Dairy Tooth Ice House‘s launching event of its first outlet in Malaysia opened at Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur. Originated from Hong Kong, Dairy Tooth Ice House is promoting Hong Kong Style Light Bites and Silky Milk Tea to Malaysians.
It is also the company’s first leap into the Southeast Asia market. The brand has set up more than 1,000 chain stores in China after ventured into China’s market in 2015.
“I still remember when the first time I visited Hong Kong back in 2002, it was the first time I have ever traveled to overseas. So in my mind, Hong Kong is what I see in the TVB drama all this while. My wife and I decided that we should try out the local eateries since it was a free and easy trip to visit the upmarket places in Central. We ordered a set meal and it came with a cup of milk tea. The aroma and taste of the tea was better than anything that I have ever drunk before. That was my first experience of the milk tea in Hong Kong and the reminiscence remained with me back home. Sad enough to say, I am still unable to have another cup of such milk tea in Malaysia until today,” said Andrew Lau, director of Dairy Tooth Ice House during his welcome speech at the launching event.
Dairy Tooth Ice House’s Silky Milk Tea (RM7.90) is brewed with top grade red tea in a hand-held silver pot. The red tea is then filtered through a white cotton sieves repeatedly for a smoother texture before blend with evaporated milk.
To ensure local customers get to taste the most authentic Hong Kong-style milk tea, they use red tea from Sri Lanka and imported Black & White evaporated milk from Netherlands to brew the milk tea according to their unique formula.
A refreshing selection of iced beverages like HK Style Iced Lemon Tea, Salted Lemon Coke, Honey Kumquat, Mongkok Jelly and many more are available as well to quench your thirst.
Crispy outside and yet fluffy inside, Egg Puff (RM6.90 – RM8.90) is a traditional Hong Kong snack with the fragrance of egg. Besides Chocolate flavour, you can also get the Original, Sesame, Seaweed, and Cheese Egg Puff at Dairy Tooth Ice House, another must try snack that’s made with their unique secret recipe.
Small grid tiles, dark green window frame and vintage wooden furniture, I am having the French Toast (Ice Cream / Peanut Butter / Butter Sugar / Chocolate / Spicy Meat Floss) at Dairy Tooth Ice House that’s uniquely decorated with impressive nostalgic touch.
Your cravings for Hong Kong’s snacks are surely to be satisfied here, as Dairy Tooth Ice House also serves Waffle (RM9.90) in Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Kaya flavours.
Although Dairy Tooth Ice House is selling traditional snacks from Hong Kong, their equipment and food preparation process are definitely at par with the modern era.
Ice house represents the culture of Hong Kong, and Dairy Tooth Ice House carries the symbolic of old Hong Kong. So come over now to taste Hong Kong people’s favourite delicacies here at affordable price.
