Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to check out the Sunny Queen, a new Italian restaurant that is located inside the happening mall of Sunway Pyramid.
Originated from Taiwan, this is Sunny Queen first outlet at overseas, serving mouth-watering Italian delights in a wonderland environment that takes your dining experience to the next level.
Boasting a childhood-reminiscing vibe, I am really impressed with Sunny Queen’s unique interior design that features a 6-meter iconic birdcage, fascinating wall mural, and humongous Queen-style seat, making diners fall to the fantasy world with colourful wonderland experience.
Experience a kaleidoscope of flavours and textures at Sunny Queen as they offer 4 types of pasta dishes here – Tomato Sauce, Squid Ink, Carbonara, and Pesto. A beautiful marriage between Japanese and Italian cuisines, this Mentaiko Shrimp (RM34) was my favourite among all with its creamy carbonara sauce, succulent shrimp, and savoury tobiko (reddish flying-fish roe) that pop in your mouth like bubble wrap.
Emphasis on the use of premium ingredients and delicious flavours, Sunny Queen’s varieties of Risotto dishes are also must-try items here, such as Truffle Parmesan Cheese Risotto, Cherry Duck with X.O. Sauce Risotto, and the one I had, Porcini & Mushroom with Cream Sauce Risotto (RM32).
What is Italian cuisine without their signature pizza? I like its crispy thin crust base, with choices like Margherita, Hawaiian, Mushroom, Walnut & Chocolate Banana, Mexican Smoked Sausage, Cherry Duck with Garlic, as well as Mixed Seafood for pizza lovers to choose from.
Another dish that caught my attention while dining at Sunny Queen was this Montreal Roast Half Chicken (RM28). Served with salad and fries at side, each bite on the chicken gave much satisfaction of taste and texture as chef still able to retain its moisture and juicy meat after the roasting process.
Dishes that cooked with squid ink have extraordinary depths of taste. If you are one of the fans who enjoy this deep coloured flavourful ingredient, Sunny Queen offers few varieties to satisfy your craving, such as the Squid Ink Mixed Seafood Pasta and this Seafood Risotto with Squid Ink Sauce (RM34).
How fresh is your fresh juice? Well… mine is very fresh served directly with the whole fruit! You can order I Am Pineapple (RM30), I Am Melon (RM38), or I Am Watermelon (RM35). Although it is slightly pricey, but the portion is enough to share among 2 persons, and the fun experience of sharing these unique drinks is definitely worth the price tag.
Besides tea and coffee, Sunny Queen has a range of different flavours smoothie to complement your delightful meals with. My ideal thirst quencher Mango Smoothie (RM20) with fresh mango cubes on top as garnishing, others selection have Oreo, Berry, Kiwi, and Banana.
With its cozy ambiance and unique interior setting, Sunny Queen is really suitable for parties and gatherings with family and friends over lively conversation, cheerful plates, colourful drinks and casual indulgence. For reservation, please call 603-5612 8927.
