Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Five Sen5es Chinese restaurant at The Westin Kuala Lumpur and sampled a new range of delectable menu prepared by their new ‘Sifu’, Chef Ron Lean Wen Seng.
Taking the helm at Five Sen5es, leading the passionate culinary team in presenting an authentic Chinese culinary experience, Chef Ron introduced some of his new dishes, such as Deep Fried Lobster Ball Steamed with Egg, Double Stewed Rambutan, Chicken with Crabmeat and Scallop, Signature Steamed Coiling Dragon Grouper with Golden Garlic Sauce, Fuzhou Litchi Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pomelo Crispy Prawn with Homemade Sauce, Braised Shimiji Mushroom with Homemade Spinach Bean Curd, Stir Fried Romaine Lettuce with Salted Fish and Chilled Peach Gum Soup with Red Dates and Longan in Coconut.
Chef Ron’s culinary masterpiece that featured in the new menu at Five Sen5es are dishes with lobster, abalone, seafood, chicken and Hong Kong inspired dessert.
Chef Ron uses high quality and nutritious ingredients in his dishes to offer authenticity and tantalize the taste buds, highlighting a wide array of exquisiteness from freshness, crispiness, tenderness to colour and taste.
Appointed as the new Chef De Cuisine of the Chinese specialty restaurant at The Westin Kuala Lumpu, Chef Ron Lean who born and raised in a small town of Langkap, Perak, brings with him more than 17 years of culinary experience to the scene of Five Sen5es.
From a tender age of 15, possessing a strong passion for exploring the culinary art, Chef Ron ventured into the field of mastering Chinese cuisine. He started small in local Chinese restaurant, then developed his skills to accomplish the role of a Chef in Five Star hotels.
From high end Chinese restaurants in Australia to International Chain Hotels, Chef Ron’s determination and enthusiasm to always offer a better dining experience to guests is well recognized in the industry.
Chef Ron enjoys developing choices of interesting Chinese dishes for catering events and also specializes in curating banquet and buffet menus. In 2016, he joined Aloft KL Sentral as the Banquet Sous Chef, and was later the Senior Sous Chef at New World Hotel in 2018 where he gained vast experiences, that he now integrates into his daily creations.
“Inheritance preserves the old dishes, innovation does not forget the tradition… It is my ideology in creating new dishes and also the ruling principle behind the new menu we have created at Five Sen5es in The Westin Kuala Lumpur. My team and I look forward to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests,” explained Chef Ron.
