Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Sime Darby Convention Centre and checked out their upcoming ‘A Taste of Malaysia’ Ramadan buffet. Created by Executive Chef Azmi Md Sidek, the Ramadan buffet features a wide array of mouthwatering Malaysian favorites that one would expect during the season.

The Ramadan buffet will be available from 8 June till 5 July 2016, 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm daily. Priced at RM138++ per person, children (aged 6-12 years old) and senior citizens (aged 60 and above) can enjoy 50% discount. Children below 6 years old are free.

One of the exciting highlights is the 20 live action cooking stalls where dishes are either cooked ala minute or prepared fresh, such as Lok-lok Steamboat, Sup Berempah, Sizzling Hot Plate, Penang Fried Kway Teow, Assorted Satay, Masakan Kawah, Putu Mayam, Lemang, Shawarma, Tandoori Chicken & Naan, and Assorted Cucur.

Buffet connoisseurs would definitely make a beeline for the Roasted Crispy Peking Duck, Roasted Whole Lamb as well as the Ikan Bakar stall serving 7 types of fishes.

To satisfy the colorful tastebuds of fellow Malaysians who are food enthusiasts, there is also a selection of international dishes that many are fond of, such as Grilled Mini Sirloin Steak, Sushi Sashimi and Italiano Pizza.

Quench your thirst with truly Malaysian drinks like Teh Tarik, Nescafe Tarik, Cincau, Soya Bean, Bandung, Barley Lime & Sugar Cane, and Special Fruit Smoothies among others.

Of course, no meal is complete without a sweet ending and the desserts selection will not disappoint, with a wide choices of cakes. Local delights such as Tapai Pulut, Pulut Panggang, Wajik, Coconut Jelly, and the much-loved Crepe with Durian, are served side by side with the likes of Durian Cheesecake, Apple Crumble and Bread & Butter Pudding.
