Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to The Elite Seafood Restaurant to sample their Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival (MIGF)’s festival menu, which featured some much anticipated seafood items such as the South African abalone and Boston lobster.
Making their MIGF debut this year, Chef Kam who has extensive experience preparing different types of Chinese cuisine, was very excited for diners to try his fusion menu that combined Asian and Western style seafood together.
We kicked start the festival menu with this Elite Duo Combinations Platter which beautifully presented even to the small details, featuring a delicious crispy Canadian oyster and Hokkaido crab leg salad placed inside the skin of avocado.
This nourishing double-boiled Chicken Soup with whelk, Chinese herbs and star fruit was simply delicious to indulge with a subtle sweetness and aroma from the fruit. It was so enjoyable, I was the first one to finish it!
Claimed by Chef Kam as his finest dish, we were not disappointed by this elegant braised 4-head South African Abalone dish. I like the idea of serving Crispy Rice at side, it gave an interesting contrast to the chewy texture of abalone.
Chef Kam has been concentrating in fusion food these few years to combine the traditional Chinese food with new elements. He paired this Baked Boston Lobster with creamy foie gras on top and herbs for the aroma, creating the star dish of the night that’s wowed all the guests for a wholesome gastronomical experience.
Simple at its best, I really enjoyed the springy texture of this Yummy One Mouth Full Egg Noodle dish. Served together with addictive soup base and fresh prawn wanton, my only wish was to have more mouthfull of the fragrant egg noodle!
After all the heavy luxurious foods, we ended the festival menu with the refreshing and light in sweetness Tian Shan Xue Lian dessert. Double boiled with whole pear and the nutritious rare Snow Lotus Flower, some guests even ate finished the fruit too and left nothing to waste.
The full festival menu at The Elite Seafood Restaurant costs RM268 nett per person with wines (minimum order 2 pax). A light festival menu is also available for RM168 nett per person without wines. For more information please visit www.elite.unique-seafood.com.

I am impressed by the presentation of the food. Like you said, the chefs even took great care on minor details. Sometimes, I think these dishes are too lovely to eat.
