Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to the launching event of Anchor Travel Cakes, a series of quintessential butter loaf cakes made using Anchor Tinned Butter, by Anchor Food Professionals, the foodservices arm of Fonterra Brands Malaysia.

Inspired by France’s “gâteaux de voyage”, Travel Cakes are delicious specialty cakes made with high quality butter brought on a journey from one place to another by travellers.

My personal favorite would be the decadent Chocolate Prune Travel Cake, a mixture of pitted prune, apricots and dark chocolate chunks encased in a moist chocolate butter cake.

An interesting flavour to me, Earl Grey Apricot Travel Cake, where the fragrant earl grey tea butter cake has earl grey tea infused apricot in it.

Beautiful Orange Cranberry Travel Cake, with plump and juicy cranberries soaked in orange juice, in a buttery orange scented cake.

“With the Anchor Travel Cakes, we hope to bring back the old delightful tradition of gifting and sharing cakes during festivities, with ideas and inspiration on how to personalize the cakes to be enjoyed at home, or given as gourmet gifts for different occasions,” said Ms Linda Tan, Director of Anchor Food Professionals Malaysia.

Anchor Food Professionals Pastry Chefs use Anchor Tinned Butter to make these Anchor Travel Cakes. Made from pure and natural dairy from grass-fed cows in New Zealand, it definitely makes a difference when using pure butter for travel cakes as it has a richer aroma and is shelf stable.

A leading brand under dairy giant Fonterra from New Zealand, Anchor Tinned Butter is a premium butter perfect for baked goods as it is aromatic and has a soft and smooth texture.

The Anchor Food Professional Pastry Chef was demonstrating ways to enhance the enjoyment of the Travel Cakes by serving them up as cake pops, simply sliced and served with ice cream, or glazed for a personal touch.

I love the smoothness of Anchor butter. Always use this brand when butter is needed in baking or cooking.
