Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral revs things up with the launch of a new addition to its portfolio of hip Food and Beverage offerings with the introduction of Re:Fuel On Wheels (ROW), its very own food truck. Re:Fuel On Wheels will be selling street grub on the streets of Kuala Lumpur Sentral at the porte cochère of the Hotel – making it the first hotel in Kuala Lumpur with a food truck.

The food truck was a project that’s been close to one year in the making and was the brainchild of the Hotel’s Management and Food and Beverage team, with the ongoing support of the Hotel’s owning company, Iringan Flora Sdn Bhd. The idea was brought about in the spirit of the Aloft brand’s credo, Different by Design, to offer something out of the ordinary and an exciting dining experience for the Hotel’s customers.

With the objective to cater to the always-connected lifestyle of today’s travellers and the Millennial generation, the idea for a food truck was born with a menu designed to provide quick bites for the on-the-go crowd and for diners looking for comfort food that is simple and fuss free.

Mr. Greg Gubiani, General Manager of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, led the team in conceptualising and realising the idea of being the first hotel in Kuala Lumpur to offer food truck services to its guests and clients alike.

“Aloft is a brand that is design forward with no-walls on what can or cannot be done. We push the boundaries of norm when it comes to hotel operations and with Re:Fuel On Wheels, I think we have done just that,” said Mr. Gubiani.

“Re:Fuel On Wheels, our food truck, is an opportunity for us to cater to the general public and expand our reach in terms of offering a wider selection of services, at a very affordable price. With this food truck it also allows us to provide a fun aspect to our catering services instead of the norm,” he added.

Named Re:Fuel On Wheels, it is a derivation from the Hotel’s 24-hour grab and go concept store, Re:Fuel, which offers self-serve gourmet eats where hotel guests can grab healthy, lip-smacking food from an appetising menu. Re:Fuel On Wheels serves as an extension of the store’s services to the corporate crowd and travellers often seen around Kuala Lumpur Sentral, the transportation hub of Kuala Lumpur.

Re:Fuel On Wheels will mainly be stationed at the Hotel’s porte cochère along Jalan Stesen Sentral and operational for breakfast and lunch periods on weekdays, with plans for it to be available for hire at external venues in the near future, for private events, catering for corporate and social functions.

Mr. Gubiani launched the food truck with Mr Adrian Wei and Mr Loh Thim Meng, Board of Directors of Iringan Flora Sdn Bhd, the owning company of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, amidst a carnival-like atmosphere at the Hotel’s porte cochère.

Re:Fuel On Wheels is operated by a young and dynamic culinary team, headed by Chef Mohd Faizal Bin Mohd Saiful Bahari. Their menu offerings on the truck will consist of a mixture of Western and Malaysian influences.

Breakfast, served from 7 am to 9 am from Monday to Friday, will offer Local Delights for RM8 consisting of Fried Noodle with Fried Chicken, Chicken Porridge, and Coconut Rice (Nasi Lemak) with Fried Chicken. The Western options also priced at RM8 will include Burger and Toast which offers Turkey Ham Burger with Scrambled Eggs as well as French Toast. Also on the menu are the Cold Selections of Tuna Sandwich, Egg Sandwich, Chicken Tortilla Roll, Vegetarian Ciabatta Sandwich and Granola Yogurt in Cup for RM7. Breakfast crowd can also get bottled fruit juices for only RM3 or a cup of coffee for RM10.

The lunch menu starts selling from 11 am to 3 pm on Monday to Friday with Local Delights like Sarawak Laksa, Chicken Rice, Beef Rendang and Dry Wanton Noodle priced at RM10. The Western selections of Spaghetti offers Basil Pesto and Chicken Bolognaise with the Burgers and Sandwiches option offering Pulled Beef Burger, Grilled Chicken, Tuna and Smoked Salmon Sandwich. A healthy option for Fruits and Salad is also available with a choice of either Mixed Fruits in a Bag, Caesar Salad or Rojak Buah.
