Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to MARIMBAR with few blogger friends to enjoy some good music, fun cocktails and delicious Italian food that The Marini’s Group is well-known for. It is Petaling Jaya’s highest rooftop bar to date and the spacious venue has welcoming splashes of green and décor that gives that closer-to-nature feel.
Situated at the 35th floor of Pinnacle PJ Tower A, this happening F&B venue from restaurateur and entrepreneur Modesto Marini of The Marini’s Group (TMG) is a nature-themed watering hole that boasts a panoramic bird’s-eye view of PJ city and part of Kuala Lumpur. MARIMBAR unabashedly draws inspiration from the jungle and its name is a combination of the owner’s surname, rimba (the Malay word for ‘jungle’), and ‘bar’.
MARIMBAR’s indoor area has walls dripping with foliage interspersed by screens of simulated waterfalls. The deejay booth stands out like a pseudo stone ruin, a simple temple of music.
Guests can sit comfortably on wide couches with palm and lobster claw plant motifs or perch themselves on animal print bar stools by the tiger print bar. Above the bar, fibre ball pendant lamps dangle from the ceiling, reminiscent of weaver bird nests in the wild.
We tried some of their signature cocktails, including The Red Rimba (RM40), Blue Moon (RM45), Pisco Disco (RM38), and my favourite Jungle Rose (RM42), a nice sourish mixture of vodka, gin, cranberry juice and grenadine syrup.
MARIMBAR offers lots of light bites for patrons to munch on while chill with their drinks. We had the deep fried Camembert Cheese (RM28), where the filling is a moist, soft, creamy cow’s milk cheese that will easily get you addicted for more pieces!!
Margherita, Napoletana, Diavola, Bolognese, Capriciossa, Salmone, the selection of pizzas here are bound to whet your appetite. Came in crispy thin crust, we tried the Marimbar Truffle Pizza (RM48) that consists of tomatoes, Mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced Parmesan cheese, truffle oil, and topped with generous amount of arugula.
We had the deep fried Breaded Chicken Chop (RM42) served with fresh greens and fries as main. For red meat lover, you can try their Lamb Shank instead that is good in taste as well.
For those with sweet tooth, MARIMBAR also serves some classic indulgence like Panna Cotta, Creme Brulee, Tiramisu, and this Tartufo (RM18), a vanilla and chocolate gelato dessert that coated with crushed almond and cocoa powder.
Marimbar is Petaling Jaya’s highest rooftop bar with a panoramic view of the city skyline and part of Kuala Lumpur. I truly enjoyed its lush green settings and modern tropical vibe that takes the concept of a refreshing watering hole to a whole new level.
Open daily from 3 pm till late, MARIMBAR’s weekly events include their Sassy Ladies Night on Thursdays. For reservations, please contact 603-2386 6030 (before 8 pm), 6012-935 2098 (after 8pm) or email reservations@marinisgroup.com.
