Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Crab Factory for their 3rd year anniversary celebration, where guests got to embark on an unforgettable Seafood Feast with their Original Louisiana Boil.
Strategically located in the heart of SS2 Petaling Jaya, Crab Factory aims to take crab and seafood dining back to basics by enabling seafood lovers get their hands dirty with their favourite ocean denizens.
How can anyone resist a feast of the freshest seafood doused in an aromatic blend of seasonings and spices with all the rustic fixings like sausages, potatoes and sweet corn?
Local and imported seafood such as King Crabs, Meat Crabs, Jumbo Japanese Sweet Prawns, Mini Lobsters Yabbies, Freshwater Prawns, and King White Prawns among others are the ‘stars’ of the culinary feast we had that night.
Cooked with Crab Factory’s signature sauces, from the tantalizing Zesty Lemon and Garlic Butter normal sauce, to fiery concoction sauces of Jamba-Jamba and Southern Bang, as well as the popular home-grown variants such as Spicy Plum, Creamy Lemak and Thai Sambal, everyone was busy getting dirty with their seafood.
The side dishes flavoured with Cajun or Garlic powder are equally delicious too, choices including Chicken Wings, Squid Tentacles, Baby Squid, Okra, Wedges and Fries.
According to the founder TY Ooi, “Crab Factory offers diners a fun, wholesome and hands-on way of getting family and friends to bond and interact over a delicious meal. We just want to reconnect people with their loved ones over good food. Once the bags of cooked seafood are spread onto the paper and plastic covered tables, everyone has to get to grips with their food since no cutlery and crockery is provided. It’s the ultimate interactive dining experience with lots of laughter and companionship thrown in.”

My ‘no frills yet fun-filled, hands-on experience’ with fresh, premium seafood at Crab Factory was truly an amazing one. Since our hands were dirty and busy grasping food, we get to enjoy the 2-hour seafood dining over joyous laughter without interruption of any electronic gadgets, and that’s why I really like this concept!
