Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant for their Oktoberfest 2016 Barrel Tapping event.
O’zapft is! (“It’s tapped!”) was heard loud and clear at Brotzeit about the same time (approx. 7:30 pm local Malaysian time) for the first Oktoberfest barrel is tapped by the Mayor of Munich! This symbolic and traditional tapping on 17th September 2016 officially marked the commencement of the largest and most celebrated bier festival on the planet.
Bier lovers will not need to travel to Munich to savour this year’s brew on tap as Brotzeit will be serving Oktoberfest bier here! Complement this with authentic modern German cuisine prepared by Brotzeit’s native Bavarian Chef, Helmut, you would be in good stead for a celebration to remember!
Mark off the 7th and 8th October 2016 on your calendar for 2 days of Munich style Oktoberfest fun and revelry at Brotzeit @ Mid Valley. Hailing all the way from Germany, the fabulous musikanten will most certainly bring the spirit of Oktoberfest’s song, dance and merry making to Kuala Lumpur.
And to add flavor to the evenings, Chef Helmut has crafted a gastronomic Oktoberfest Platter (RM280 inclusive 6% GST), featuring Brotzeit’s signature Pork Knuckle, Lumberjack Pork Steaks, Gypsy Belly Bacon, a trio of Sausages (Pork Garlic, Spicy Chicken and Nurnberger Pork) served with sauerkraut and potato salad, making it the perfect sharing platter amongst 4-5 friends or family.
Reservations are by way of pre-purchased tickets priced at RM60 (inclusive 6% GST), which includes a pint of Oktoberfest bier and a night of non-stop entertainment.

Besides the Oktoberfest’s signatures, we also tried some of Brotzeit’s new items.
I always enjoy thin-crust pizza with tomato sauce base, and this Kassler Flade (RM39) features an interesting combination of ingredients that I have not tried yet, mozzarella and thin slices of smoked pork loin topped with olives and freshly grated horseradish which gives the distinctive pungent taste.
A fascinating new addition to Brotzeit’s porkish menu, this Mozzarella Pork Fillet (RM20) will not disappoint to satisfy your hungry belly, with boiled ham, pork fillets, tomatoes and mozzarella piled up on sourdough bread served with coleslaw and fries at side.
Topped with fried egg and crispy bacon, I like the fine texture of this traditional homemade German Style Meat Loaf (RM18), which served together with sourish Asian salad at side to balance up the savory taste of meat loaf.
Apfelkuchle (RM26), a traditional German pastry, chef dipped the sliced apples in batter and fried till golden brown crisp. Served with homemade vanilla sauce at side, the cinnamon-sugar which dusted on top made the apple fritters more delectable to savour.
So, are you ready for the WIES’N? Call 03-2287 5516/7 or email resv@brotzeit1516.com.my to book for the best seats in the Haus!

Oh the food looks very tempting. Oktoberfest is the best time to have a sit down and have these kind of dishes but it would be best to share them out with your loved ones as portions tend to be too big, lol. Love the share on this though and as usual the pictures are lovely.

Ah, I have never celebrated Oktoberfest before simply because I don’t drink liquor. However, looking at your photos, I am reminded that I could still enjoy the celebration by eating!
