Doing grocery shopping when your stomach is rumbling or feeling thirsty is quite frustrating. Even worst, you may end up spending more on unnecessary food items because of the hunger!
Thanks to a friend’s suggestion, I recently went to Tesco Extra at Mutiara Damansara to grab some groceries, where they also have this Bistro area (near the bread & pastry section) that houses different F&B brands offering varieties of food selections. The dining place is spacious, perfect for those who wants to take a break from the shopping while enjoy some food and drink.
All the brands – HoLim, Daddy J Chicken, and Ali Tomyam share a open kitchen that is clean and organized. You can see for yourself how the food and drink are being prepared while waiting for your order at the counter.
Serving wide choices of refreshing flavoured drinks like Milk Tea series, Coco series, Juices series, Coffee series, Smoothies and Fruit Tea series, HoLim is a Malaysian beverage brand that is quite new to the market.
You can customize your beverage the way you like it. Just pick your favourite add-on including Pearl, Pink Pearl, Grass Jelly, Coconut Jelly, Pudding, Pink Pong, QQ Jelly, Aloe Vera, Red Bean and Ice Cream. Each ingredient gives you a different bite texture and flavour to evoke a sense of joy from the very first sip!
Something unique that caught my attention, the creatively concocted Strawberry Pudding Yogurt Smoothies (RM7) with sweet sourish taste that appeals to my taste buds just nice.
It is hard to go wrong with fried chicken, a very common dish especially when you have no idea what to eat. Daddy J Chicken offers western delights in fast food style, such as Burger, Cheesy Wedges, Fries, Hotdog, Nugget, and of course their signature golden brown Crispy Fried Chicken.
I find their combo sets are really valued for money, like the basic Daddy Set A (RM5.90) with rice, 1 piece of fried chicken, 1 cup of soft drink, and 2 signature sauces. For sharing, you can opt for the Daddy Family Set (RM24.90) that comes with 5 pieces of fried chickens, 1 fries, 3 soft drinks, and 3 signature sauces. Their house-made sauces – Special Rendang Sauce, Garlic Honey Sweet Sauce, Mayo Spicy Butter Sauce, Signature Sambal Sauce, and BBQ Sauce are bound to whet your appetite for more!
If you prefer Malaysian dishes, then Ali Tomyam would be your best choice. Originated since 2002 from a small village in Perlis, their Tomyam Laksa (RM7.90) with a taste of asam laksa is very fragrant and highly addictive in taste.
Other items like Tomyam Cham Cham (RM9.90) with big fish ball, vege ball, crabstick, and fishcake is also something you can not miss at Ali Tomyam.
