Once a while, my mum will bake her favourite scones for family’s teatime treat. These lightly sweetened scones are easy to bake, and can customised the flavours according to your preference.
To make the Chocolate Chips Scone more flavourful, we incorporated the Cookies & Cream flavoured milk by POKKA inside our recipe. Inspired by one of the top 3 ice-cream flavours in the world, this creamy milk indulgence was made to entice your taste buds.
Ingredients
* 250g self-raising flour
* 50g butter (chopped)
* 35g castor sugar
* 35g chocolate chips
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 120ml milk
* Extra milk for brushing
How to make Chocolate Scone
* Preheat oven to 220 degree Celsius
* Sift flour together with baking powder into a mixing bowl
* Stir in salt and sugar
* Blend in butter with a pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly
* Add milk at once, then mix to a soft but not sticky dough using a palette knife
* Mix in chocolate chips
* Turn out dough onto a floured board and knead lightly and quickly until smooth
* Roll out to about 2cm thick and cut into rounds with a 4cm fluted cutter
* Place cut-out dough on greased tray and brush surface with milk
* Bake for 15 minutes or until well risen and golden
Best eaten fresh from the oven, it is great to have the light airy scone together with POKKA Cookies & Cream flavoured milk for a mouth-watering experience unlike any other.
I also like their coffee drinks for a pleasurable caffeine boost, especially the POKKA Premium Milk Coffee. Aromatic real-brewed coffee blended with creamy milk, it has smooth taste with a tinge of charcoal-roasted beans in each mouthful.
