Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently attended the grand opening of The Shore Shopping Gallery on March 21st 2015, an international shopping destination in the heart of Melaka City, by Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad, a subsidiary of Yayasan Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera.
Officiated by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Hj. Idris Bin Hj. Haron, The Shore Shopping Gallery was located within the World Unesco Heritage (along the Melaka River on Jalan Persisiran Bunga Raya) and only 5 minutes away from the famous Jonker Street. Also present during the launching ceremony were Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Kamalul Arifin Othman and Kerjaya Prospek Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tee Eng Ho.
‘Owned by Kerjaya Hotel Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Kerjaya Prospek Group, The SHORE is part of the integrated development of Melaka City situated on a 3.1 acres freehold land facing the Historical Melaka River. The SHORE is an integrated comprehensive development consists of 4 major components, namely The SHORE Shopping Mall, The SHORE Residences, the 4-star Swiss Garden International Hotels and The SHORE Oceanarium Complex. The above complementary components bring about a vibrant environment for business, shopping, dining and dwelling in the heart of Melaka.’
Speech by Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Kamalul Arifin Othman
The launch marked a significant milestone in the group’s foray into the retail market. The Shore Shopping Gallery was the second investment for Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad after successful opening of Nu Sentral in 2014, a 7-storey lifestyle retail mall within Kuala Lumpur Sentral.
Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad currently owned prime commercial assets ranging from office buildings to retail malls, logistic warehouse and hospitals in strategic locations around Klang Valley. The Shore Shopping Gallery is Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad’s first completed property outside Klang Valley, acquired from Kerjaya Prospek Group in February 2015 because of its strategic location within the integrated development of The Shore @ Malacca River. It is an important and valuable asset for Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad and it may be injected into their Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) unit trust fund.
Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Hj. Idris Bin Hj. Haron, signed the plaque and commemorating the official opening of The Shore Shopping Gallery.
To celebrate the opening, the lucky 1 millionth customer of The Shore Shopping Gallery was receiving the prize of a 2 days 1 night stay inclusive of breakfast for two at Swiss Garden Hotel & Residences Malacca.
In conjunction with The SHORE’s grand opening, the management also celebrated their 1 millionth customer and 100% occupancy rate after only 4 months of operation period, as well as the arrival of 3 major anchor tenants, which are TANGS Departmental Store, The Shore Oceanarium and Lot 10 Hutong Food Gallery.
The stylish lifestyle-tourism focused The Shore Shopping Gallery is home to over 100 splendid stores with an area size of 300,000 sq ft. It features modern, elegant architectures, harmonious landscaping and a bevy of services to make it a shopping paradise for all ages. Other attractions of the mall include the promenade by the Melaka River, which will tantalize patrons with its beautifully landscaped musical fountain, an amphitheatre for both outdoor and indoor events and eateries.
Aiming to be the latest unique tourist attraction in Melaka, Kerjaya Prospek Group will build an oceanarium adjoining to The Shore Shopping Gallery, which will boast the world’s longest aquarium tunnel and coral reef besides South East Asia’s maiden 360-degree view perspective.
For the convenience of shoppers and tourists, there will also be a new bridge connecting The Shore across the Melaka River to the Eye of Melaka.
