Chinese New Year 2016 @ Shang Palace, Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur

From 8 January to 22 February, have a bountiful feast with family, friends and colleagues at Shang Palace to usher in the Year of the Monkey.

There is an a la carte menu filled with auspicious dishes such as Poon Choy or Braised Premium Chinese new treasure combination, Braised Bird’s Nest Soup with Lobster Meat and Shredded Fish Maw, Canadian Lobster Duet, Wok-fried Scallops and Stuffed Spiked Sea Cucumber with Shrimp Sauce and Braised Rice with Sun-dried Seafood and Abalone Sauce, among other dishes.

There are also 5 Prosperity Menus of eight or nine courses: Great Prosperity Set Menu (RM221 nett per person), Rich Fortune Set Menu (RM455 nett per person), Happy Reunion Set Menu  (RM2319 nett per table of 10 persons), Wealth Treasures Set Menu (RM3368 nett per table of 10) and Immense Wealth Set Menu (RM5816 nett per table of 10 persons).

All the set menus begin with Yee Sang, and end with Combination of Steamed Traditional Ninko coated with nuts and Deepfried Sesame Balls.

Seven varieties of Yee Sang can also be ordered a la carte, for dine-in or takeaway from 8 January to 22 February. Enjoy the seven varieties of Yee Sang – Korean snow pear, Crispy fish skin and jellyfish flower, Salmon fish, Japanese tuna, Sliced abalone, Canadian lobster and Geoduck clam – at lunch or dinner with friends, colleagues and family for prosperity, good fortune and abundance.

Prices range from RM91 nett (small) and RM161 nett (large) for the Korean snow pear Yee Sang and Crispy Fish Skin and jellyfish flower Yee Sang, to RM126 nett (small) and RM220 nett (large) for Salmon Yee Sang and Japanese Tuna Yee Sang.

Sliced Abalone Yee Sang is RM173 nett (small) and RM313 nett (large), while the Canadian Lobster Yee Sang is RM290 nett (small) and RM546 nett (large). Geoduck Clam Yee Sang is RM266 nett (small) and RM511 nett (large).

Prosperity Hampers at Lemon Garden 2Go convey wishes of happiness, abundance, and success to family members, friends and corporate clients. There are two types of hampers – Prosperity Treasures (RM1188 nett) and Prosperity Deluxe (RM788 nett). They are available until 8 February.

In the Prosperity Treasures Hamper, there are Eight Treasure Cake, abalone, bird’s nest, dried scallops, XO sauce, dried mushrooms, red dates, fatt choy, chocolate pralines, pineapple tarts, mandarin oranges, Chinese tea and red wine. The Prosperity Deluxe Hamper has all these items except the abalone, bird’s nest, dried mushrooms and fatt choy.

At Shang Palace, the fish-shaped Coconut Ninko makes an attractive and auspicious gift. It is available for takeaway at Shang Palace till 7 February at RM68 nett.

There are also the Steamed Radish Cake with dried shrimps (RM48 nett) and Steamed Water Chestnut Cake (RM48 nett) denoting rising good fortune that are ideal for dine in or takeaway for Chinese New Year lunch or dinner.
