Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to WOW KL! at the MATIC (Malaysian Tourism Centre) along Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur, a must-visit destination to wow the tourists from overseas as well as locals on our unique colourful Malaysian cultures.

WOW KL!’s logo personality is designed on this Wau kite graphic to project our proud local culture and heritage. WOW is also a paraphrase on Wau, which in Bahasa Malaysia, the national language of Malaysia, is a euphemism for a kite synonymous with Malaysia. While the logo is an artistic interpretation of the Wau, the name conjures and encapsulates the effect and impression one gets on a visit to Kuala Lumpur.

Formerly known as Saloma Bistro, the premise consists of three elements, the Sports Bistro, Arts Restaurant, and Streetfood Square. To chill out, you can pop into Sports Bistro, an all-day open breezy lounge complete with a long bar, giant screen and live music.

To embrace culture in motion, drop into Arts Restaurant and catch the daily show of multi-ethnic dances, sketches and traditional Malay wedding. To savour traditional fare in an authentic setting, take a walk around Streetfood Square, where hawker stalls serve up choices Malaysia is renowned world over.

The buffet spread at Arts Restaurant features varieties of sumptuous and popular Malaysian dishes to showcase the diversity of our cuisine to the tourists.

The appetizers and salad section with lots of choices to pick from to kick start your buffet meal with.

For those with a sweet tooth, have your picks at the lip-smacking dessert station such as traditional Malay kuih-muih, western pastries, cakes, ais batu campur, ice cream, and fresh fruits.

Towards the end of the cultural show, diners were invited on stage and joined the performancers to have the Joget dance, a traditional popular Malay folk dance during varieties of social functions.

Starting from 7 pm until 10 pm, this buffet is priced at RM110 nett per adult and RM70 nett per child (6 – 12 years old), which includes an hour of cultural performance. Hurry book your seats now before the pricing increase on 1st April 2018. For non-Malaysian, it will be RM130 nett per adult and RM95 nett per child (6 – 12 years old), while for Malaysia RM115 nett per adult and RM80 nett per child (6 – 12 years old).
