Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Du Viet’s Appreciation Party to thank you their fans who had voted Du Viet as their number one favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor in the recent survey done by Tally Press.

Du Viet Group has been in business since year of 2002. Specialized in Vietnamese cuisine, the name “Du Viet” means to “do Vietnamese” for a meal. “Du” is used to signify the French influence in Vietnam. Recipes of dishes are prepared and maintained by a succession of chefs who hail from Hue, Central Vietnam, the ancient royal capital with a legacy of refined food fit for emperors.

They serve pork-free, healthy and high quality Vietnamese food without using any MSG, essence or preservatives, whilst soups are pure bone-broth patiently simmered over 8-12 hours for an all-natural taste.

Du Viet is very proud of their array of appetizers, like the Mixed Summer and Spring Rolls, Sugarcane Shrimp, and Hue-style Rice Cake are just a few of the popular items often ordered by customers. My personal favourite would be this Steamed Rice Wrapped Roll (RM14.90 for 2 rolls), with filling of shrimps, chicken and mushrooms, served together with crunchy bean sprout and dipping fish sauce.

Du Viet believes in using quality ingredients to produce healthy and comfort Vietnamese food, like this crowd-favourite Shrimp and Summer Combo Rolls Delite (RM22.90 for 4 rolls), which consists of fresh rice paper rolls and fried spring rolls with filling like prawns, grilled lemongrass chicken and beef.

If you ask Du Viet’s loyal customers, most of them would agree that Du Viet’s Hanoi-Style Mixed Beef Noodles Soup (RM23.90) is very different from others in the market. Their signature best-seller dish has natural tasting without too strong on the palate of spices and beef’s flavours. The soup is all pure bone-broth, no beef cube essence is used, resulting in a clear lighter broth.

Served with rice vermicelli, salad and fresh vegetables, the Hanoi-styled Beef and Chicken Dry Noodles (RM22.90) is light and refreshing topped with appetizing BBQ beef and chicken fillet. This noodle dish comes with fish and peanut sauces that are made from scratch.

Try something different this lunar festive, and toss your way to prosperous fortune and abundance of wealth with Du Viet’s Ha-Ha Lou Sang (RM68 medium ; RM88 large). Consisting 12 different ingredients and 4 delicious sauces to represent the 12 months and the 4 seasons of good health and prosperity for the new year, this Ha-Ha Lou Sang is only available for a limited time until 28 February 2018.

The 12 ingredients are Turnip, Radish, Pineapple, Pomelo, Bean Sprout, Cucumber, Carrot, Lettuce, Cabbage, Glass Noodles, Fresh Prawns, and Herbs, while the 4 sauces include Fish and Lime (Spring), Plum (Summer), Peanut (Autumn), and Dry Roasted Condiments (Winter). All the ingredients are natural and do not contain any MSG, flavour enhancers, preservatives and artificial colouring.

Served with condensed milk, each glass of traditional Vietnamese Drip Coffee is sure to evoke a sense of satisfaction from the very first sip with its robust flavour.

I will definitely come back Du Viet again for their authentic Vietnamese cuisine, especially the beef noodles soup.
