5 Quick Meal Recipes with Primo Tuna

A good source for protein and omega-3, tuna is an incredibly versatile fish. Be creative with canned tuna and do not limit yourself to bread and sandwich only. Using canned tuna from Primo Selection, which you can get it from local major supermarkets, I created 5 easy recipes that come with quick preparation.

1. Spicy Tuna Pasta with Red Curry Sauce

It only takes me minutes to whip up this quick Asian flavoured pasta dish. To spice up my pasta with a little kick and also make this dish extra filling, I use canned Primo Tuna with Red Curry Sauce for easy preparation.

Ingredients

* Penne
* Garlic Cloves, peeled, thinly sliced
* Cherry Tomatoes
* Large pinch of Chilli Flakes
* 1 tbsp roughly chopped Thyme
* 160g canned Primo Tuna with Red Curry Sauce
* Salt, Ground Black Pepper, Olive Oil

Methods

1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the pasta in the salted boiling water for 10-12 minutes, or until al-dente.
2. Meanwhile, in a large frying pan over medium heat, heat oil. Add and saute garlic until softened and translucent.
3. Add in Primo Tuna with Red Curry Sauce and cook until heated through with cherry tomatoes, chilli flakes and thyme. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
4. Drain the pasta, then toss well in the tuna mixture before serving.

The Primo Tuna with Red Curry Sauce contains tuna, coconut milk, water, red curry paste, red chili, sugar paste, modified starch, fish sauce, soybean oil, kaffir lime leaf, and paprika oleoresin.

2. Fried Rice with Fried Green Curry Tuna

Just throw in whatever ingredients that you have, making a plate of fried rice is so easy and quick to prepare. For my version of Thai-styled fried rice, I like the combination of sweet sour pineapple matches with green curry tuna taste, it is really appetizing in flavours.

Ingredients

* Cooked and chilled White Rice
* Garlic Cloves, peeled and chopped
* Fresh Prawns
* Egg, beaten with a dash of salt
* Fresh Pineapple, cut into cube
* Cashew Nuts
* Canned Primo Tuna Fried with Green Curry
* Fried Rice Seasoning
* Salt, to taste
* Cooking Oil

Methods

1. Heat up frying pan over medium-high heat. Add in cooking oil once the pan is hot enough.
2. Add and saute garlic until softened and translucent before throw in the fresh prawns.
3. Pour in the egg and cook, stirring frequently, until the eggs are scrambled and lightly set.
4. Add the rice to the pan and stir to combine.
5. Cook until the rice is hot, then add in Primo Tuna Fried with Green Curry and stir to combine.
6. Finally, add in the pineapple and cook until the liquid has evaporated and the pineapple is caramelized on the edges.
7. Cook until the contents are warmed through, then remove the pan from heat.
8. Season to taste with fried rice seasoning and salt, set aside.
9. Garnish with crunchy cashew nuts on top upon serving.

Ingredients

* Medium size Flour Tortillas
* Canned Primo Tuna Green Chili
* Romaine Lettuce Leaves
* Carrot, julienned or sliced
* Cucumber, julienned or sliced

Methods

1. To assemble, top each tortilla with romaine lettuce leaves as the base, then follow by Primo Tuna Green Chili, carrot, and cucumber. Tightly roll up the tortilla like a burrito, slice and enjoy!
2. If you are practicing low-carb or keto diet, you may use lettuce leaves instead of tortillas.

4. Green Curry Tuna Salad

If you prefer Asian flavoured salad, you can try this protein loaded Green Curry Tuna Salad that is very easy and quick to prepare with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

* Leafy Green Vegetables
* Cherry Tomatoes
* Carrot, julienned or sliced
* Cucumber, julienned or sliced
* Canned Primo Tuna with Green Curry Sauce
* Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed
* Salt and Black Pepper, to taste

Methods

1. Wash the ingredients clean under running water and mix all in a large salad bowl.
2. Add in canned Primo Tuna with Green Curry Sauce. The flavourful sauce gives this tuna salad recipe an ideal creaminess without needing mayonnaise.
3. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice to give it an incredible refreshing flavour.
4. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
5. Toss well to combine and serve.

To have customized homemade pizza with your favourite ingredients, you can always buy frozen plain dough from the supermarkets and design the toppings your way. Making fresh pizza dough entirely from scratch with yeast, flour, water and salt is a labour intensive task if you do not have the time.

Ingredients

* Plain Pizza Dough
* Button Mushrooms
* Onion
* Cherry Tomatoes
* Canned Primo Tuna Fried with Red Curry
* Tomato Paste
* Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese
* Salt, to taste

Methods

1. Preheat the oven to 220 degree Celcius.
2. Spread the tomato paste evenly over the plain pizza dough, then follow by a thin layer of cheese to avoid your toppings from falling off while you are eating it.
3. Place the rest of ingredients like button mushrooms, onion, cherry tomatoes, and Primo Tuna Fried with Red Curry on top the pizza dough.
4. Scatter the remaining cheese over the pizza and place it on centre rack and bake for 6 to 8 minutes, or until cheese melts and edges are golden brown.
