Watami Japanese Casual Dining Restaurant, a leading casual dining chain originating from Tokyo with over 600 outlets in Japan and 50 across the Asia Pacific region is introducing over 10 exciting new gastronomic creations this month of October.
The new dishes comprised part of the Grand Menu which features over 100 varieties of original Watami fusion fare that blended both the Japanese and Western style.

Bariuma Teba Karaage (RM10.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5118″]
One of the Watami’s signatures is this deep fried till crispy golden brown chicken wing that comes with a new wasabi and beef consommé dip sauce. The taste is on the mild side, at least for my own taste buds, yet kinda addictive though.

Kaki Fry (RM17.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5125″]
Best enjoyed while it is hot, chef deep fried the plump and juicy oyster till nicely golden brown with an extra crispy outer layer. Served together with 2 different dipping sauces, this Kaki Fry is definitely an ideal snack to pair with a chilled shot of sake.

Kushiyaki Miso Onigiri (RM9.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5119″]
Came in 4 pieces, the rice balls were prepared in Kushiyaki style (skewered and grilled) with minced meat on top. Infused thoroughly the marinate sauce miso paste, the taste was towards the salty side but not too over powering.
Firm texture with slightly char at the bottom, put the whole thing into your mouth and let the mixed textures play an aromatic magical to your palate.

Salmon and Avocado Roll Sushi (RM21.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5124″]
A feast to the eyes as well, this beautiful plated Salmon and Avocado Roll Sushi was one of my favorites at Watami. Fresh salmon over delicately sliced imported avocados and filled with shredded cucumber and pickled daikon make this maki sushi a must try when you dine at Watami the next time.

Spider Roll Sushi (RM21.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5122″]
One of the best-sellers at Watami, chef rolled the deep fried soft shell crab in fluffy sushi rice along with the fresh lettuce and garnished beautifully with roe covered the outer layer. Served together with yakitori mayo sauce that has a bitter sweet taste, I had it in one mouthful!

Fire Oyster Roll Sushi (RM18.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5123″]
Came with a little bit of kick, chef rolled the deep fried succulent oyster in fluffy sushi rice, and smothered generously with the addictive tartar sauce, chili pepper and chilli sauce that will make you hooked from the first bite.

Teriyaki Salmon (RM22.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5117″]
Served together with baked potato, broccoli, corn and cherry tomatoes on the side, the grilled salmon came in a generously sized portion and fully covered with the enticing sweet and savory teriyaki sauce. Appetizing to my taste buds with much satisfaction.
*****
Nagasaki Chanpon-fu Ramen (RM26.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5120″]
Topped with generous amount of ingredients including pork, seafoods, and mixed vegetables, this Nagasaki style ramen was cooked in a steaming hot pork broth, while the noodles and vegetables were stir fried first to bring out the aromatic flavor.
Originally from Fujian, China, this ramen was adopted and made local by residents of Nagasaki in Kyushu. Watami imported the ramen noodles directly from Japan to ensure its best quality for customers. Chef slow cooked the broth for hours at a low simmer to make sure it is richly infused with flavor.

Tokyo Meibutsu Stamina Don (RM15.90)
[portfolio_slideshow include=”5121″]
Served as Set Lunch together with salad and miso soup, this wallet-friendly Tokyo-style pork rice consists of marinated pork slices with sunny egg yolk on top. Love the well-flavored and tender pork slices, do remember to mix evenly the raw egg yolk with others for that extra creamy and moist texture on both the meat and rice.
Only available for weekdays’ lunch except public holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
