Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Chequers at Taman Tun Dr Ismail for their handmade waffles that are surely leave your senses craving for more!
Designed to the theme as an American diner restaurant, Chequers offers diners an exciting waffle experience dishing up creative twists with premium local and seasonal ingredients in a fun and whimsical atmosphere.

Chequers offers a selection of scrumptious all-day breakfast delectables, including this Down Home Benny (RM19) that served with savory waffle, beef bacon, poached egg, creamy guacomole, watercress salad and Hollaindaise sauce, a well-balanced dish provides me enough protein, energy and nutrition for a productive day.
Chequers’ unique recipe uses quality butter leavened batter, which makes feathery light and crispy golden waffles, like this Double Deck Croque Monsieur Breakfast (RM18), another signature savory waffle sandwich with turkey ham and tomato wrapped with egg and served together with creamy cheese sauce topped with a sunny side egg.
*****
Diners are spoilt for interesting choices of waffles at Chequers, including this Moo Moo Breakfast (RM28), their signature waffle burger that made with seasoned striploin beef patty seared to perfection. Served together with waffle fries at side, the savory waffle burger was piled high with beef bacon, cheddar cheese, raisin slaw, pickled relish and homemade enticing berry barbeque sauce. Truly a mouth-watering satisfaction to the beef lovers with its juicy gourmet beef patty.
*****
Chequers also serves meat dishes under the mains category, like this pan-seared Crusted Lamb Rack (RM42) that served with well-seasoned mashed herb potatoes, roasted baby carrots and honey grain mustard sauce. Crafted to suit the discerning palates, the meat was cooked to tender perfection just the way I like.
*****
A reasonable good portion to satisfy your dessert cravings, this sweet chocolate chip waffle Melting Moments (RM17) was simply delicious to indulge, which served together with crispy hand-battered banana fritters, almond nibs and a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream flavored with caramel and chocolate sauce for a tastier satisfaction.
*****
Served together with refreshing coconut ice cream with fragrant pandan sauce covered all over it, this exquisite pairing of Tropic Coconut (RM17) made a tantalising dessert with the fluffy coconut waffle, fresh coconut meat and roasted almond. The perfect conclusion to our delightful waffle experience at Chequers TTDI.
