Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Xenri Japanese Cuisine for their Chinese New Year Boundless Fortune Festive Offerings in conjunction with the auspicious celebration of the Year of Rooster.

Give it a good toss with lots of best wishes before savouring the Salmon Yee Sang (RM108), featuring all-time favourite assortment of fresh salmon, jelly fish and unique ingredients for a prosperous lou sang.

For more luxurious indulgence, upgrade to Premium Sashimi Yee Sang (RM138) with air-flown finest sashimi cuts – kampachi, salmon, butter fish, maguro and jelly fish, topped with chef’s homemade Japanese sour plum sauce for more appetizing flavours.

Enticing medley of fresh fruits and vegetables – red apple, yam bean slices, aka & ao sakura so, wakame and pumpkin slices prepared to crisp and natural perfection. This colourful Vegetarian Yee Sang (RM68) tastes equally delicious and refreshing with chef’s homemade Japanese apple sauce for diners to toss for boundless fortune in the Year of Rooster.

Lovers of oyster would be delighted with this Oyster Hiroyaki (RM48), baked with cheese plus topped with diced onion and shitake mushroom, yummy!

Chef Andrew Yeoh, Group Head Chef, who has more than 30 years of experience in Japanese cuisine expressed, “Xenri’s cuisine is free from MSG, artificial colouring and preservative, and uses pure H20 purified by the reverse osmosis (RO) system. Our cuisine using the freshest ingredients handpicked and creatively paired, like this Golden Haru Maki (RM55), a traditional sushi roll delicacy with crispy snow crab leg, flying fish roe, cucumber, coral lettuce, black oak leaves and garlic mayonnaise. It is a procession of small courses meticulously arranged on exquisite plating.”

Symbolising happiness, prawn is not-to-be-missed during Chinese New Year feast. Look at the size of this fresh river prawn in Royal Ebi Nabe (RM68), simmered in miso soup hot pot together with assorted vegetables, mushrooms and fish cake, I already heard some laughter from other diners upon the dish is served.

    This definitely looks like a feast suitable for a king… oh wow… never tried it here yet… Will do so next time I am around he area
