FB : HPPNK 2017: Hari Peladang & Malaysia Food Festival
*****
Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to MAEPS Serdang with few blogger friends for the Hari Peladang, Penternak dan Nelayan Kebangsaan (HPPNK 2017), a carnival disambut pada 6 Ogos setiap tahun, sejak diumumkan oleh Allahyarhum Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Perdana Menteri Kedua Malaysia pada 6 Ogos 1975.
Bertemakan “Our Food, Our Future”, HPPNK 2017 yang dianjur dan dikendalikan oleh Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani (MOA) adalah satu platform untuk menghargai dan meraikan mereka yang terlibat dalam penyediaan makanan kita di semua peringkat, daripada pengeluaran iaitu petani, penternak dan nelayan, kepada mereka yang memproses, memasak dan menghidangkan makanan.
Nowadays, children who stay in the city have less chance to see and touch the real animals themselves. I can see their happy faces when parents took the opportunity to show them around these animals at the Petting Zoo.
Say hi to Malin, a Malaysian indigenous sheep breed with white, black or brownish hair. This special breed has a high tolerance to the heat and diseases.
We had an exciting opportunity to savour some local fresh fruits at the Flowers and Fruits Kingdom, from stalls like Gerai Buah Buahan Segar FAMA, Kerepek Pisang Sabah, Cempedak Goreng, Shake Shake BP Manggo, Fruit On Fire and many more.
Besides that, visitors can also bersantai bersama DJ Celebriti at the Flowers and Fruits Kingdom, take part in the pertandingan makan buah, and see for yourself how chef carves the fruits skillfully into beautiful art pieces.
Before going home, come and experience a kaleidoscope of flavours at the Food Empire (Hall D), with stalls and food trucks selling varieties of cuisines from different states of Malaysia.
The dining hall is really big and spacious. It took me few minutes to walk from one end to another end while deciding what kind of food I should order. Diners can also expect happening stage performances by RWB, D’Fama Band, Pilots Acoustic, 7th Mirror, and D Bozz to live up the environment.
(Part 1, to be continued)
