Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Suria KLCC for their ‘Rekindle The Bonds Of Traditions‘ Hari Raya Aidilfitri launching event.
Shoppers to Kuala Lumpur’s premier shopping centre, Suria KLCC are in for a treat as the mall welcomes the upcoming festive celebration with a visual feast revolving around the excitement of the 27th night of Ramadan or also known as Malam Tujuh Likur.
The annual event will once again brighten the mall’s Centre Court with decorations recreating the festival of lights ambience of Malam Tujuh Likur and showcasing the rich cultures of Malay architecture. The main centrepiece will have a pentagon-shaped porte-cochere inspired by Jahar Palace in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and surrounded by traditional yesteryear-designed shops.
A beautiful mini garden with life-sized flowers and colourful painted lamps to create the festival of lights ambience, is set to mesmerise shoppers and visitors alike while traditional Malay fretwork and Islamic geometry patterns give the structures the perfect finishing.
Happening from 14 May until 9 June 2019, be entertained by a variety of performances at Suria KLCC that include Mak Yong Dance Drama, The Malam Tujuh Likur Musical Raya Dance, traditional Malay dances from various Malaysian states, Kids traditional dances, Dikir Barat performances, and Silat martial arts.
Once again, Suria KLCC has constructed the tallest lamp at the Esplanade KLCC. This striking structure is 70 feet in height and visitors can snap pictures with this impressive decoration until 9 June 2019.
Suria KLCC has pledged its support towards spreading some festive cheer through the ‘Share The Care‘ fundraising effort. The aim is to raise awareness among the public about Food Aid Foundation (www.foodaidfoundation.org), the first non-government organisation dedicated to reducing food wastage and ending hunger in Malaysia and a minimum of RM10,000 from 10 May until 9 June 2019. All you need to do is donate RM10 for the cause. Funds raised will be channeled to the Food Aid Foundation to purchase food items, finance emergency relief and support its operations to alleviate hunger and malnourishment in the country.
Enjoy exclusive rewards when you shop at Suria KLCC this festive season. From 10 May until 9 June 2019, Suria KLCC shoppers will receive a pair of candy jars and Raya packets with a minimum spend of RM1,000 and above in 2 receipts. Shoppers will also get one contest entry to win an exclusive dining experience for 2 with Chef Sherson Lian. While those who shop on weekends will have the chance to receive a limited edition ‘Kuala Lumpur Scarf’ by dUCk Scarves and Raya packets with a minimum spend of RM3,500 in a single receipt.
Additionally, 5 shoppers who enter the Daily Raya Rewards mechanic will stand a chance each to win an invitation for 2 to dine on specially prepared dishes by Chef Sherson Lian at a recommended restaurant by the chef at Suria KLCC.
