Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently joined the UFirst Day Out Ladies Edition at Perodua Seremban and X Park Sendayan. Exclusive for lady drivers of Aruz, Myvi, Axia, and Bezza, it was Perodua’s latest ground event specially focused on female participation and engagement.
We started the event with #UFirstKongsi session by Puan Oja. She shared some tips on how to stay alert and be safe while driving on the road. Even though I drove for many years already, I still found it useful to always refresh our knowledge and learn new things.
Next, we get to sit in the Aruz and experienced ourselves the wonderful magic of Advanced Safety Assist (A.S.A) 2.0. It is a suite of safety features introduced by Perodua to reduce low-speed accidents due to inattentive driving. This advanced technology is the first-of-its-kind in Malaysia from a local manufacturer for an affordable hatchback. The system comes with 4 functions :
Pre-Collision Warning
Alerts the driver when it detects a risk of frontal collision or pedestrian.
Pre-Collision Braking
Applies the brakes when it detects an increasing risk of collision with the vehicles or pedestrian ahead.
Front Departure Alert
Alerts the driver when the vehicle in front has moved
Pedal Misoperation Control
Suppresses engine output when the driver accidentally stomps the accelerator pedal
Participants were taught some basic knowledge and tips on car maintenance. There were so many things that I almost forgot after many years of driving, like how to check the oil level, or what is the ideal air pressure for car tyres. I found this session super useful especially for us lady drivers, some took the opportunity to ask the instructor as many questions as we can.
We headed to X Park Sendayan for exciting games and activities after finishing the #UFirstKongsi session at Perodua Sales Jalan Rasah Seremban. Buffet lunch was served with varieties of delicious local dishes before the briefing session.
My first #UFirstFun sport station would be the go kart riding. It was extremely fun to steer around the corners as we need to complete 8 laps within 10 minutes time. I truly enjoyed the exhilarating speed of the race even though I never tried this before.
I always thought archery is easy until I finally get to try it!! A fitness activity that benefits muscle development and mental health, archery requires high precision, control, focus, physical ability and determination.
Different from the fast-speed go kart ride, I need to stay calm by controlled my breathing, concentration and nervousness while holding the heavy bow and arrow. I only managed to collect 5.2 out of 20 total points, maybe I can do some internal meditation first before trying again next time for a better result.
Similar like archery, we need to shoot down 10 targets using 10 pellets during the paintball game. It was a bit difficult at first, but as I get used to the weight of the shooting gun, it became smoother and I managed to score some points!
It was also my first ATV riding experience. Since this popular sport can be quite dangerous, we were told to ride around a safer trail with the guidance of several experienced staffs.
Participants were required to complete 5 laps and collected 5 hair bands from the marshall during the journey. We need to return back to the starting point and stopped the timer once completed 5 laps. Each hair band collected get 4 points, while each golf ball lost minus 1 point.
After finishing all the outdoor activities, I finally get to enjoy my foot massage during the #UFirstCantik session. There were also other pamper activities for the ladies to indulge such as manicure, henna, and face painting.
We ended the UFirst Day Out Ladies Edition event with #UFirstSihat nutrition sharing session by Adele Wong. A dietitian and nutritionist herself, Adele is also a certified personal trainer and fitness intructor. Aiming to educate and empower individuals to make good nutrition choices, Adele shared some tips on how to achieve optimal health through food during her #UFirstSihat session.
