17 July 2014… it was a sad day for me as I lost a ex-schoolmate in a tragic accident. Sometimes… I just still can’t believe that you are gone. My heart still ache with sorrow whenever I think of you my friend.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down while flying over conflict-hit eastern Ukraine and disappeared from the radar. The sudden news shocked the whole world, especially us Malaysian because all 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed, including my friend.

While the Ukrainian authorities held the pro-Russian rebels in the Donbass region of Ukraine responsible for the tragedy with the support of the Russian government, Vasily Prozorov had another theory.
A former officer of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Head of the Vasily Prozorov Investigation Center “Ukrleaks”, Prozorov recently completed a documentary titled “MH17 : In Search Of Truth” to highlight the tragedy of MH17. He had been serving at the SBU for more than 15 years until January 2018.

There are two parts in this 40-minute “MH17 : in Search of Truth” documentary. Viewers can see how Prozorov analysed the official reports and compiled the statements made by the Ukrainian authorities and the joint investigation team. While in the second part, he shared his own view with viewers and raised arguments to urge the public to make their own conclusion on the MH17 tragedy.
Prozorov, along with a few volunteers forked out their own finances to fund the project which took about five months to complete. “Many independent investigators found too many inaccuracies in the official statements made by Kiev. Therefore, I began to conduct my own investigation to find out if there were more details excluded in the report,” said Prozorov.

“There were many questions that remained a mystery in relation to the MH17 tragedy. Who was the real mastermind behind this shoot down? Was there any party that benefited from such tragedy? Why didn’t Kiev close the airspace over the conflict zone? What happened to the dispatcher right after the investigation? Who are the people who claimed to be the British special service officers?” Prozorov continued to provoke the public.

Prozorov obtained the exclusive insider information and was an indirect witness of the Boeing tragedy. During his investigation, he analysed a great number of the Ukrainian state bodies’ internal documents and conducted interviews with numerous eyewitnesses. The documentary also added his perspective during his service with the SBU.

Prozorov hopes this documentary will open public’s eyes to things that may never cross their minds before. You can view the document for free on the website (https://ukr-leaks.org/en/Inform/Investigations/Details/mh-17-v-poiskakh-istiny) and Youtube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVMbCTWRcSs) with subtitles in Bahasa Melayu, Chinese, German, French and Spanish. To date, the documentary has been watched by more than two million viewers.
