Last weekend, I went to Canton Kitchen at Happy Garden Kuala Lumpur with my besties to enjoy their Guang Xi Cantonese style dim sum offerings.
It is available Monday to Friday 10:30 am until 3 pm, and Saturday to Sunday (including public holidays) 9:30 am until 3 pm.
It was my first time trying this Osmanthus Honey Tomato (RM4.80) and I really like it. The firm-textured tomatoes soaked in well the fragrant osmanthus honey sauce, giving it a nice refreshing sweet taste to open up my appetite.
My friend told me that I must try their Drunken Chicken Bao (RM7.50 for 3 pieces), a unique creation of Canton Kitchen featuring the use of Bentong ginger where it is hardly available at other places. Best eaten while it is served warm, the bao has a nice aroma of ginger wine, and its meat filling is tender in texture with hint of spicy taste from the ginger.
For seafood lovers, make sure you try their classic Fish Head with Chopped Chili (RM15) where the sauce is so aromatic and flavorful, delivering satisfaction in every bite.
Infused with a western twist, the Truffle Roasted Duck (RM18) is one of the crowd favourites too at Canton Kitchen with its tender meat texture and mouth-watering exquisite truffle flavour.
Other dim sums that we tried include the Chicken Claw (RM7.50), Bacon Roll (RM7 for 3 pieces), and Smoke Duck Roll (RM7.50 for 2 pieces).
Do not miss out on their dessert offerings like the Lotus Sesame Ball, Coconut Lava, and my personal favourite Gold Sand Custard Cake (RM6.50). Made with fresh milk, egg, and special salted egg sugar granules as the main ingredients, I like its mochi style chewy texture and it is not overwhelmingly sweet.
The restaurant also has a corner where you can purchase Canton Kitchen’s signature products like Assam Paste, Bentong Ginger, Nan Yang Curry Paste, Honey Kumquate, and many more.
Overall, the Guang Xi Cantonese style dim sum experience here in Canton Kitchen had me surprised for more than a couple dishes. Your cravings are sure to be satisfied with their wide varieties of delicious dim sum.
