Bus Transportation and Hotel Accommodation

We travelled all the way to Hat Yai directly from Kuala Lumpur by bus. The whole journey was pleasant and comfortable as we do not need to worry about the transportation problem.

Attractively located in the center of Hat Yai and near from Kim Yong Market, our accommodation at River Grand Hotel provides easy access to general goods, shopping, and eateries.

Our twin room in this 3-star hotel is neat and comfortable with free WiFi provided. For Malaysian tourists, please remember to bring along your universal traveler plug adapter.
Attractions and Activities in Hat Yai, Thailand

Also known as the Taj Mahal of Hat Yai, Songkhla Central Mosque is a beautiful mosque that was built in 2001 with delicately details and the walkway is paved with marble.

It has become a well-known place of worship for Muslims in Hat Yai. Remember to snap some pictures in front of the crystal clear reflective pond right at the entrance and majestic building!!

I finally saw the Golden Mermaid statue, the famous landmark of Samila Beach. The mermaid statue is sitting and comb her hair on the rock of the beach. The symbol of Songkhla was built in 1966, and has been a popular visit attraction among both Thais and foreign tourists.

Samila Beach is located on the northern part of Songkhla, a great place to chill for photo opportunity with shady trees and a 3 km stretch of white sand beach.

We went to the Khlong Hae Floating Market in the evening to beat the hot weather. Opened from Fridays to Sundays, it is the first and only floating market in the southern of Thailand.

Offering lots of Thai cuisines and bargain stuffs, we took our time to stroll around and soak into the local atmosphere with performances by various groups. Part of the uniqueness of this Khlong Hae Floating Market is the array of colourful boat merchants.

ASEAN Night Bazaar is a covered market with stalls selling all sort of stuffs, including fashion clothing, shoes, souvenirs, and etc. There is a food court on level 2 selling different kind of Thai foods.

Do wear comfortably because there are lots of aisles to walk and explore for good bargains at ASEAN Night Bazaar. Located at 76 Chotevittayakul 3 Rd, Hat Yai, this great shopping spot is opened from Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Monday), 4:30 pm until 10 pm.

We stopped by Rosecarree Gallery, a fashion boutique offering beautiful Islamic clothing. They offer many traditional and stylish designs for the modern Muslim women and men.

You can also get quality songket fabric made from Thai silk at Rosecarree Gallery, the best gift to impress your beloved ones.

Next, we went to the Big Bee Garden. There is a well-decorated backyard garden for lots of photo opportunities. Their staffs are also there to explain how is the process of bees collecting nectar to make honey that have many nutritious benefits. Remember, do not panic or run if the bees rest on you.

They have a souvenir store selling varieties of products that are related to honey. We get to taste some samples and their refreshing honey drinks.

We stopped by Dannok for last shopping trip before heading back to Malaysia through the Sadao Customs and Immigration. It is a small town in Southern Thailand on the border with Malaysia.

Run out of Thai Baht? Don’t worry as some of the business owners will accept Ringgit Malaysia for your purchase. We went in to the 7-Eleven convenience store and their local shops. Not forgetting the delicious street food hunting here at so affordable price.
Delicious Muslim-Friendly Thai Restaurants in Hat Yai, Thailand

One of the must-try items in Thailand include tasting the boat noodles, a Thai styled noodle dish with bold flavour. You can adjust its taste by adding the sauce condiments to suit your taste buds.

Located in Bang Klam district of Songkhla, Thailand, this open-air Rusdee Boat Noodle restaurant is famous for their varieties of signature boat noodles, as well as other affordably priced Thai cuisine. Overall, the place is well kept. The restaurant also offers few smaller huts if guests need some space and privacy for dining.
