Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to the KOSE x AEON “SEKKISEI SAVE the BLUE” event at the Mid Valley Centre Court.
Known as the rainforests of the sea, corals play a vital role in maintaining the balance of our oceans. Sadly, they face threats from global warming and the destructive crown-of-thorns starfish.
In 2009, SEKKISEI started the SAVE the BLUE project with efforts to restore coral reefs in Okinawa. In the years of the project, they have successfully protected the coral reefs by creating new coral life in the seas of Okinawa.
In 2011, SEKKISEI brought the scope of the project overseas with various SAVE the BLUE projects operating in 8 different countries and regions, taking advantage of the uniqueness of each area, such as coral conservation and tree planting activities in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the USA.
SAVE the BLUE is making a difference in Malaysia’s pristine beaches, implementing proper waste management to protect our beloved sea turtles and coral reefs. Together, we can re-create a beautiful blue ocean for generations to come!
