Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently had the opportunity to try out a series of Taiwanese styled mooncake by Donutes Coffee & Cake Baking.
Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner! Priced at RM52 per box of 8 pieces, you get to taste 6 different flavours of mooncake, namely Japanese Purple Potato Yolk (new), Blueberry (new), White Lotus Yolk, Matcha Yolk, Red Bean Mochi Yolk, and Taro Yolk. You can also purchase these mooncakes at a-la-carte price of RM6.50 each.
Different from the old-fashion traditional packaging, the mooncake box is black and white in colours with marble alike background to bring out its modern beauty in simplicity. Whether you want to purchase these mooncakes for yourselves or as gift, you can mix and match the varieties and flavours according to your own preference.
Its smaller size compare to normal mooncake is just nice and suitable for small family like mine. We get to share the mooncakes and able to sample few flavours at once before the tummy is filled up.
My personal favourite would be the Matcha Yolk, where both savory and green tea aroma harmoniously blended together. I also like the sweet sourish new flavour Blueberry that is quite popular among the younger customers. Taking pride in the quality of its products, these mooncakes are not cloyingly sweet and oily for your festive indulgence.
If you prefer the traditional baked mooncake, Donutes Coffee & Cake Baking also offers few selections like Matcha Red Bean (RM19), Luminare Lava Egg Yolk (RM20), Red Bean (RM16), Low Sugar White Lotus Single Yolk (RM19), Black Sesame Single Yolk (RM19), and Durian Musang King (RM23) in snow skin form.
Customers can purchase these delectable mooncakes at any Donutes’ outlet in Puchong Jaya, Kota Damansara and Subang SS15.
Enjoy the full moon with a reunion among loved ones eating mooncakes while watching the moon, a symbol of abundance, harmony and good fortune. For more information, please visit www.donutesmalaysia.com or follow them on Facebook page fb.com/DonutesMalaysia.
