Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Damansara Utama for the launching event of Crème De La Crème (CDLC), where dessert lovers can indulge the best-of-the-best of ice creams for Malaysians by Malaysians!
With its stylish interior combined with funky furniture pieces, the Instagrammable Crème De La Crème exudes a classy yet hip vibe and is exactly what you need to take your Instagram feed up a notch.
The team is highly passionate ice cream aficionados who strive to be the best ice cream artisans in Malaysia. Personally trained under world-renowned celebrity dessert master, Christy Tania, their team of highly skilled pastry chefs are armed with a wealth of knowledge and technical know-how to create the perfectly irresistible pint of wonderful creamy swirls.
Offering an array of 18 delightful ice cream flavours, Crème De La Crème infuses these with local delicacies to create unique euphoric blends that are bound to tantalize a wide range of local tastes buds with flavours including Musang King, Pandan Kaya Toast, Barley Lime, Teh Tarik and many more.
A nostalgic treat made from a perfect balance of pandan, coconut and eggs, this Pandan Kaya Toast caught my attention with its unique combination of flavours. Fresh fragrant pandan leaves are first dehydrated, blended into powder form and added into a mix to create that fresh, wholesome, aromatic and all-natural pandan kaya flavour. The chefs then hand bake a crumble and swirl it into the ice cream, adding into the texture a toasty and crunchy bite.
“We don’t believe in skimping on ingredients. Using only 100% all-natural, fresh and wholesome ingredients, we are proud that we lovingly hand make our ice creams from scratch without the use of preservatives, artificial flavourings and colourings,” said Lio Lim, the brainchild of Crème De La Crème.
Crème De La Crème also offers artfully conceptualised Petits Gâteaux (ice cream cakes). These beauties are intricate handcrafted pieces of artwork that are perfectly Instagrammable – in other words, too pretty to devour!
One of my personal favourites is this gorgeous Beauty & the Beast, featuring a marriage of 3 flavours – 63% Dark Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream, mixed with Morello Cherry Sorbet to achieve a perfect balance of bitter, tangy and sweet. There is also a layer of dark chocolate crumble, chewy chocolate brownie and almond nibs that gives it an extra crunch to the delectable and beautiful treat.
Do stop by Crème De La Crème if you are around the Damansara Uptown area, as the team is aspired to introduce new flavours every month and always have something for everyone!
“We assure you that if you want to taste the best artisan ice cream, you have come to the right place. This is our promise,” added Lio.
