With its timely arrival, the collaborative effort between With Link Co. Jp. and Nippon Delicious Sdn. Bhd. is making its home at recently refurbished Jaya Shopping Centre. VIP guest in attendance include second Secretary Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries & Environment to Embassy of Japan Mr. Takashima Hiroshi, Deputy Managing Director of Japan External Trade Association Mr. Seiko Sekine, Ambassador of Ecuador to Malaysia H.E. President of With Link Co. Jp., Toshiharu Eguchi was present to introduce the brand, reiterating the revered history of Ramen as a Japanese staple. There are currently ten outlets in Japan that are operated by the principal and 30 more as franchises. There are also two outlets in Singapore‟s Tanglin Store and United Square Mall with plans of launching 30 international outlets in five years.
“Ramen noodles are representative of Japanese culture,” he said. “It’s also well-loved in Asia, America, Europe and the Middle East. I believe this is due to the varieties of flavour and combinations of soups and toppings. Our corporate philosophy is in ‘human resource development’ and we promise to work to maintain this as a priority moving forward.
I went into the food service business in 1992 without any experience and started franchising a curry shop. Through trial-and-error, initial struggles and eventually taking the leap into the Ramen business, I learned that this truly unique Japanese staple is immensely popular globally. Our corporate philosophy is to build good character through our work and making an impression with our customer base.”
Mr. Elvin S, director of Nippon Delicious Sdn. Bhd. also prides himself on what is possible with this new venture. “We’re delighted to co-operate Bariuma Japan to introduce Bariuma Ramen to Malaysia because we wanted to create an accessible eatery that world be defined by its dishes,” said Elvin.
“Every signature dish is prepared with finesse and the simple flavours will linger on every diner‟s taste-buds. When you care about your end-product, word-of-mouth will do the rest. With Link Co. Jp.‟s successful track record in Japan gives us the confidence to introduce their food items that we believe will appeal to the savvy Malaysian palate.”
Enlivening the proceedings further was the presence of two leggy beauties in supermodel Amber Chia and Asia’s Next Top Model Season 2 winner Sheena Liam, who joined the Mr. Toshiharu Eguchi, Mr. Elvin S. and Mr. Yaw for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Guests were then treated to the sumptuous signature dishes of Bariuma Ramen, in particularly, its rich pork flavoured broth that had everyone clamouring for more on a lovely Thursday afternoon.
