Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently get to sample some really delicious cuisine for the urban Malaysians at Chili ESPRESSO that located inside Nexus Bangsar South.

Chili ESPRESSO is spaced out into two sections. The alfresco area is designed with a backyard feel with trees, plants and furniture made of old railway sleepers. Recycled wood, old drums, bottles, cans and wooden boxes are used for eco friendliness.

The inspiration of Chili ESPRESSO is from the Penang Heritage City. The design is based on old pre-war shop houses alley or lorong with children eating noodles under a frangipani tree. It flows to a more recent colonial styled building, which is where our coffee bar is.

The murals on wall are drawn by Drew Funk, an Australian based artist. Born in Malaysia, Drew Funk currently resides in Melbourne and can usually be found creating at Blender Studios. As well as on the streets, Drew has exhibited nationally and internationally. Known for a range of styles, including murals / street art, fine ink illustration and painting, the artworks Drew Funk composes are very distinctive.

Infused with Malaysian heritage flavors into a contemporary menu, Chili ESPRESSO serves wholesome and flavorful foreign dishes as well to cater the different taste buds.
