Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently get to sample Momento 7’s newly revamped menu that focus on serving varieties of Katsu dishes to spoil the diner’s appetite.

Dipped into beaten egg and then coated with wet panko (bread crumbs) before being deep fried, Katsu dishes are popular in Japanese cuisine, with non-oily and extra crunchy bite on outside layer.

If rice is your staple, Momento 7 has rolled out few specially crafted dishes for the Katsu lovers.

* Oyako Don (RM14.50), braised chicken on rice

* Katsu Don (RM15.50), breaded pork on rice

* Tori Katsu Don (RM14.50), breaded chicken on rice

* Katsu Curry Rice (RM16.50), curry breaded pork on rice

* Tori Katsu Curry Rice (RM16.50), curry breaded chicken on rice

Not much idea what to order? Momento 7 offers 5 different sumptuous set menus for diners to enjoy at their convenience, which includes Rosu Katsu Set (breaded pork loin), Hire Katsu Set (breaded pork fillet), Rosu Katsu Ni Set (breaded pork loin in stock), Ebi Katsu Ni Set (breaded shrimp in stock) and Buta Shogayah Set (stir fried pork with ginger).

Served together with Japanese steamed rice, salad, pickles, miso soup and special sesame sauce, each set guarantees a satisfying mouth-watering experience with chef’s heart-warming dishes.

Rosu Katsu Set (RM24.50)

Buta Shogayah Set (RM26.50)

Hire and Ebi Katsu (RM26.50)

To captures the finest flavors of Katsu dishes, we were given a bowl to grind the sesame ourselves and then mixed it together with the sweet sourish tonkatsu dipping sauce for extra fragrance.

Fish Katsu Bento (RM15)

Momento 7 also serves 3 delightful bento sets, Rosu Katsu (Pork), Tori Katsu (Chicken) and Fish Katsu, from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. to cater the hectic lunch crowd. Besides the deep fried meat fillet and warm Japanese steamed rice, you can also enjoy the sides like marinated baby octopus, pickles, fresh greens, homemade potato salad as well as healthy miso soup.

Cheese Katsu and Cheese Roll (RM16.50)

Bringing simplicity to another level, chef fried this breaded pork loin (fat and lean meat) that stuffed with cheddar cheese till nice golden brown crisp. For another variation, try the crispy breaded pork roll with stuffing like lean meat, carrots, asparagus and cheese, both are my absolute favorites here at Momento 7.
