Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently got to dine in at Sukiya, the Japan’s leading gyudon chain by number of locations.
With 5 branches currently located at Taipan USJ, Uptown Damansara, Kota Damansara, IOI City Mall Putrajaya and Aeon Bandaraya Melaka, Sukiya offers delicious beef bowl dishes at affordable prices with great service. According to the manager, Sukiya has obtained the Halal certification for some of their signature dishes, hence Muslim customers can now also savor the fulfilling gyudon dishes without putting a hole in the wallet.

Sukiya is a self-ordering fast food Japanese restaurant, the perfect choice for me especially if I am in rush for quick, healthy, tasty and affordable meals.
*****
With price as low as RM8.40 per bowl, Sukiya has 6 varieties of gyudon dishes in their menu to cater the different discerning taste buds. Cooked to the utmost perfection using premium Australian grain-fed beef, customers can choose between Signature Gyudon, Spicy Ontama Gyudon (half boiled egg), Okra Gyudon, Triple Cheese Gyudon, Veggie Gyudon and Negitama Gyudon.
Gyudon Beef Rice (RM6.40 S, RM8.40 M, RM10.40 L)
If rice is your staple, then you won’t be disappointed with Sukiya’s gyudon dishes. Served with generous amount of tender juicy beef strips placed on top a bowl of short-grained Japanese rice, I just simply love the sweet savory taste from Sukiya’s secret recipe sauce that cooked together with onions for natural sweetness.
For a more complete dining experience, customers can always choose the value sets (Seaweed Salad Set, Edamame Set, Seafood Tofu Set and Karaage Set) with just an additional of RM5.50 – RM6.50.

Triple Cheese Gyudon (RM8.40 S, RM10.40 M, RM12.40 L)
Lovers of cheese should try this! A flavorful combination of cheddar, mozzarella and red cheddar gives a really nice enticing taste to the delightful beef strips, definitely a winner in my own preference list.

Teriyaki Chicken Rice (RM8.40 M, RM10.40 L)
Besides gyudon, Sukiya also offers a scrumptious list of chicken rice dishes, which includes Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken Mayo, Veggie Chicken and Veggie Chicken Mayo. Simple comfort food with nice texture of chicken thigh meat and flavorful sweet savory teriyaki sauce, my cravings is sure can be satisfied at Sukiya.

Tokyo Ramen (RM8.40)
With aim to satisfy the different needs from customers, Sukiya recently introduced new addition slurpilicious ramen into their existing menu. With choices of Tokyo Ramen, Tokyo Chicken Ramen and Negitama Ramen (with half boiled egg and spring onion), Sukiya made their noodle in-house daily and distributed every day from centralized kitchen to all the outlets to ensure the freshness and quality.
Sukiya’s ramen stock was clear type chicken shoyu broth that cooked for many hours continuously. Served together with steamed chicken thigh and chopped spring onions, this ramen did remind me of Chinese wan tan mee soup, quite close with our local taste buds without the heavy salty flavor.
