Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to sample different countries’ delicious curries at Palace of the Golden Horses, which priced at RM128 nett (adult) and RM65 nett (child) and is available for dinner only.

Spearheaded by Executive Sous Chef, S. Mageswaran and his kitchen brigade, this unique World of Curries promotion features an array of international and local delights from more than 20 different countries across the regions including India, Sri Lanka, Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia.

Prawn Curry (Sri Lanka)

Throughout the whole month of April, guests dining in can choose from a wide selection of offerings such as Retro Curry of Beef with Prawns and Fish (Japanese), Okra and Chicken Curry (Turkish), Macchhilli Jaisamandi (Rajasthan), Finish-style Mojakka Beef Stew (Finland), Steam Clams with Curry (Portuguese), Brazilian Fish Stew (Brazil); and not forgetting our neighbouring countries such as Green Curry with Fish and Eggplant (Thailand), Authentic Bangladeshi Beef Curry (Bangladesh), Padang-style Chicken Curry (Indonesia), Vegetable Curry (Sri Lanka) and our very own all-time favourite Pajeri Nenas (Malaysia) at this 5-star hotel’s famous coffeehouse set in a lovely resort environment by the lakeside.

There is a variety of appetisers on the buffet line that will fascinate you including Smoked Salmon Roulade with Mesclun and Orange Segment, Thai-style Minced Chicken Salad (Lab Gai), Tikka Marinated Chicken with Cilantro and Tomato Salad, Poached Shrimps and Melon Salad, Pasta and Seafood Salad with Pesto Dressing, Marinated Squid and Black Bean Salad, Popiah Basah and Pasembor Mamak.

Okra and Chicken Curry (Turkish)

For soup lovers, please your palates with choices of Seafood Pindang Soup, Oxtail Soup with Herbs and Spices, Curried Lentil Soup, Green Pea and Bacon Soup, and Creamy Curried Carrot Soup.

Vegetable Curry (Sri Lanka)

In addition to the buffet spread which includes offerings of steamed salmon and cabbage roll, braised oxtails with mushrooms and tomatoes, pan-fried sea bass fillet on bell pepper coulis, Mediterranean chicken stew, Irish lamb hot pot, deep-fried squids with peppers and sweet and sour sauce, wok-fried wanton noodles with shredded chicken and mushrooms and fried mussel kam hiong style amongst others; there will be other action stalls serving a variety of noodle, and meat carvings that will surely tantalise your taste buds.

Tuna Curry (Maldives)

The ‘World of Curries’ buffet also boasts other dishes that Malaysians crave for such as Kari Kepala Ikan Nyonya Berbendi, Udang Masak Sambal, Anika Sayur Tumis Berkunyit, Wok-Fried Flower Crab, Stir-Fried Lamb with Ginger and Spring Onion and Braised Bean curd with Broccoli and Crab Meat Sauce. Enjoy too, international delights that will mesmerize your taste buds including dishes of Chicken Scaloppini with Lemon Remoulade, Duck Breast with Mango Chutney and Ginger Jus, Beef Roulade with Mushroom Duxelles and Herbs Sauce and Barbeque Glazed Salmon with Potato Ragout.

Desserts lovers will be pleased with offerings of more than 30 choices to choose from including Mongolian Hot Rice Pudding with Walnut and Raisin, Caramel Macchiato Cheese Cake, Cranberry Swirl Coffee Cake, Pecan Pie with Cinnamon Sauce, Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake, Carrot Cheese Cake, Yogurt and Fruit Parfaits, Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, Banana Bread and Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce, assorted malay kuih, French pastries, selection of homemade cookies and the list goes on…

    OMG!
    I hope my stomach will behave after trying out all the different types of curry.
    The curry looks so tempting and sinful at the same time – but I guess that’s what people ‘guilty pleasure’.
