Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Jacob’s Creek Heritage Wine Collection event that was held at The Club, Saujana Resort & Hotel. It was an exceptional 3-course wine pairing dinner in an intimate and candlelit setting accompanied by a live band jazz performances.

Offering quality contemporary wine styles with great varietal expression, Jacob’s Creek is one of Australia’s leading global wine brands that launched in 1976. Named after the place where Johann Gramp planted his first vines on the banks of Jacob’s Creek in 1847, he successfully founded the Barossa Valley’s first commercial vineyard, the Gramp & Sons business and a history of winemaking innovation that dates back over 165 years.

The Heritage Wine Collection is distinctive for its individual personality style. Setting a benchmark in regional Australian wines of exceptional quality, each wine is named in honour of a special person or place in the proud wine-making history of Gramp & Sons. The fine wine collection consists of Reeves Point Chardonnay, Centenary Hill Shiraz, Steingarten Riesling and Johann Shiraz Cabernet.
*****
The Jacob’s Creek Steingarten Riesling showed intense citrus floral aroma and flavour with dry mineral acidity, outstanding mid-palate structure and great length. I had wonderful time sipping it while enjoy my delicate Marble of Lobster and Tomato Confit with Avocado and Grapefruit Segments as well as Pomegranate Truffle.

For fans of Chardonnay, the Jacob’s Creek Reeves Point is a medium-bodied wine with flavours of lemon, ripe peach and melon balance. It complemented well this creamy soup dish with smoked rolled quail that was served in young coconut for the aroma and fragrant.

The Jacob’s Creek Reeves Point Chardonnay matched nicely as well with my impressive Pan Fried Blue Eye Cod Fish with Fern Shoot and Seafood Saffron Veloute that pleased my senses and palate with much pleasure.

My partner had this Grilled Black Angus Beef Tenderloin with Sarawak Pepper and Rosemary, served with Mushrooms Polenta and Vegetables at side. The dish paired perfectly with Jacob’s Creek Centenary Hill Shiraz, a fine wine in rich berry flavours with intense plum and spice aromas.

Jacob’s Creek Johann Shiraz Cabernet is a wine that inundates the senses of complex, intertwined and intriguing with notes of liquorice, blackcurrent and oak, a perfect ending to this wonderful event together with my sinful dessert Royale Chocolate Gateaux with Berries.

Led by Chief Winemaker Bernard Hickin, great care is taken by each of the skilled and passionate individuals behind the brand, to deliver the highest quality wines possibles within each range. Having earned over 7,000 medals at wine shows across the brand’s portfolio over the last 30 years, Jacob’s Creek wines are trusted by consumers for their genuine quality.

I prefer sweet type of white wine. Do you think Jacob Creek suit my taste as I love light taste? The food look tempting and is a good pair with wine.

Such a scrumptious meal. I bet you had a great time. I’m a noob when it comes to wine pairing since I don’t drink at all.
