Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to The X, a Western-Japanese gastropub for a fun night out with buddies. This was my fourth session of The CONNOR’S Experience after Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré, Black Market and #TheBBP.
The X is conveniently located in the bustling neighborhood of Bangsar, making it an ideal place for lunch or dinner with your colleagues and friends. Offering wide range of fusion dishes in a soothing contemporary dining setting, The X was helmed by Chef Kevin Yong, who won Regional Champion in 2008 and runner-up in 2016 at the Intercontinental Hotels Group Black Box Competition.
Inspired by the original British Stout Porter recipe from the 1700s, the Master Brewer crafted their own version of the great Stout Porter with much devoted effort. Containing 5% of ABV, I like its crisp texture, creamy head and gentle roasty undertones that appeals to the modern taste buds.
CONNOR’S Stout Porter was re-launched in 2015 to create relevance with young, modern, and discerning stout drinkers looking for an alternative to lager beer that’s balanced in taste.
Not too rich, not too bitter, I really enjoy CONNOR’S Stout Porter unique balanced character, is the only brew that was Just Made Right for my palate.
Fish Popiah Wrap (RM32++ with 1 full pint of CONNOR’S Stout Porter)
I like this Asian-inspired dish, pan-grilled dory fish wrapped with popiah skin, melting different cultures in one flavorful wrap. The accompanied CONNOR’S infused dipping sauce complemented the tender dory fish so flawlessly with its unique addictive taste.
Rack of Lamb with CONNOR’S (RM52++ with 1 full pint of CONNOR’S Stout Porter)
Crafted with passion to bring out the best in every ingredient used, chef marinated the meat with his special sauce of CONNOR’S Stout Porter, coriander and rosemary for a minimum of 30 minutes before nicely grilled the lamb rack till golden brown perfection.
Served with crunchy roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables at side, CONNOR’S Stout Porter unique balanced character really enhanced the inherent taste of lamb, making it a truly enjoyable gastronomic experience.
The X Steak (RM64++ with 1 full pint of CONNOR’S Stout Porter)
This is a beautiful sirloin steak that’s cooked to medium rare perfection together with CONNOR’S infused sauce. Accompanied by creamy mashed potato and grilled vegetables, everyone at the dinner was so amazed by its tenderness!
The secret? Chef just being generous to select the premium cut which is more enjoyable to feast on.
Japanese Pancake (RM28++ with 1 full pint of CONNOR’S Stout Porter)
Be sure to leave some space for sweet endings as you would not want to miss their Japanese Pancake which comes with an exciting CONNOR’S twist. Served together with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, this classic Japanese dessert is paying homage to the main influence on the cuisine at The X, with CONNOR’S foam to top it all off to elevates the taste of Japanese pancake. What a perfect sweet indulgence to complement all the savory flavors we had at The X.
From drinks to food to get home safely after a fun night out, I truly enjoyed A Night Made Right with my buddies at The X Bangsar – all packaged in one amazing deal with The CONNOR’S Experience by CONNOR’S Stout Porter.
