Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory’s first outlet at Pavilion KL, the South Korea’s largest chain of “Chimaek” restaurants that serves Korean-fusion yummy-licious chicken delights.
Pronounced chi-ruh chi-ruh, Chir Chir derives its name from the tantalising sounds of bubbling oil when chicken is placed in a deep-fryer. It is a sound that promises a lip-smacking good time of dining in a “Chimaek” (a combination of “chi” for chicken and “maek” for beer) eatery; a unique Korean gastronomic concept that is made popular around the world by the hit Korean drama, “My Love from the Star”.
Chir Chir is well-known for its signature freshly cooked chicken dishes that are fried only upon order; it’s not pre-fried and neither is it frozen!
Crispy, tender and juicy all at once. Succulent meat is marinated for six hours in Chir Chir house seasoning before coated with batter and deep fried. Chir Chir’s Signature Fried Chicken is presented in three delectable flavours – Crispy Fried, Spicy and Garlicky.
Available in the form of chicken wings (7 pieces), boneless chicken tenders or whole chicken cut into 15 pieces, just wait a mere 8 to 12 minutes until you sink your teeth into its tender flesh!
Fresh and tender meat is marinated for 12 hours before being roasted to perfection in the oven. Chir Chir’s Roasted Chicken is deliciously presented in Garlic, Rosemary and Spicy BBQ flavours, and savour these appetising dishes with their accompaniments of salsa, whole salt-baked egg and baked potato with sour cream.
Super addictive Honey Butter Chicken (RM56.90), a winning dish of crispy battered chicken, potato wedges and fried topokki generously glazed with Chir Chir’s proprietary honey butter sauce, and finished with honey butter seasoning powder, dried cranberries and sliced almonds. Honeyed mayo garlic dip is served at side for extra dose of flavour!
Honey Grape Salad (RM29.90), this is by far my favourite salad with a delicious combination of sweet, plump, seedless green grapes, walnuts, pine nuts and almonds, topped with house-made ricotta whipped cream. Crispy-chewy tortilla shards was served as well for extra texture, and finished with a drizzle of honey and a dose of minced garlic.
Available in two perfect sizes for sharing, this Mac & Cheese (RM14.90 single portion ; RM28.90 double portion), a creamy macaroni and cheese topped with shredded cheddar, is definitely one of my favourite recommended dishes at Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory if you don’t feel like having chicken.
Craving for something hot and spicy? This Spicy Seafood Soup (RM54.90), a comforting seafood broth loaded with squid, prawns, mussels and crayfish will definitely take your breath away.
Inspired by a “latte kiss” as featured in a hit Korean drama, I had fun with their signature Chir Cream Beer (RM24.90 350ml ; RM34.90 650 ml), a creative combination of draught beer and whipped cream to complement my “Chimaek” experience.
Another interesting beverages that caught my attention, the Red-gizer (RM24.90), an energising mango mix with strawberry syrup topped with Red Bull!
