Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to The Daily Grind’s new outlet at Ampang, Kuala Lumpur’s very first gourmet burger restaurant which established in December 2008, dedicated to serve a range of crafted and adventurous gourmet burgers, from 100% prime beef patties to lamb patties and vegetarian options, using the freshest ingredients and homemade sauces.
The new outlet takes up a total of 2,400 square feet with 2 floors. The ground floor features a cozy skylit courtyard area, surrounded by plants and natural sunlight. A great area for that perfect Instagram food shot or OOTD picture!
There’s also a full bar offering signature milkshakes, draft beers, liquors and wine, along with high and low tables for casual dining.
The dining space upstairs is very suitable for small corporate events or parties. The black and white-tiled floor, glass lamp shades and light wood-paneled walls all come together to create a casual, retro yet polish and laid back ambiance. An outlet emitting a faintly distinct vibe from the flagship Bangsar outlet.

For an unforgettable burger adventure, embark on a journey with The Daily Grind. First stop, we had the Downtown Tokyo (RM33) that served with deep fried soft shell crab, wasabi mayo, rocket leaves, and charcoal burger bun to give more Japanese influence to the dish.
Choosing which burger to eat is pretty tough here since there are so many delicious choices, including this Sloppy Joe (RM33), a big messy burger of sauteed beef patty in barbeque sauce, melted cheese and skinny onion rings.
The Daily Grind Ampang offers a slightly different menu, retaining a selected number of popular dishes from Bangsar menu and additional dishes unique to Ampang. There are less burgers and more comfort food dishes, like this Hangover Breakfast (RM25) which consists sausage, potato hash, beef bacon, capsicum, jalapeno, poached egg and drizzled with Hollandaise sauce.
It’s hard to say no to the next finger-licking good dish, Southern Fried Chicken (RM32), golden crispy fried chicken served together with waffle, coleslaw and onion gravy, perfect for the kids as well as grown-up.
From Roasted Spring Chicken, Surf & Turf to Lamb Ribs, The Daily Grind’s intriguing dinner menu is served from 6 pm onwards. Accompanied with salad, sauteed potatoes and raita (yogurt based condiment from India), these Asian-style Lamb Ribs (RM69) are tender, smoky and flavour-packed with aromatic spices.
